Belle Butters Haul

I was introduced to Belle Butters from reading Addicted to All Things Pretty blog (check it out).  Then, recently, Afrobella posted about her favorite masks, and what appeared again?  Belle Butters Neutralizing Butter for Oily Skin ($12 U.S.).  Since I have oily skin, I just had to try it.  I ended up purchasing two items, the Pumpkin Pie Butter ($12.50) because I love the scent of pumpkin spice and how it tastes.  Although you can’t eat this it sure does smell like it. Of course, I picked up the Neutralizing Butter for Oily Skin.

Description:

“I made this butter because I, am a sufferer of a very oily T-Zone. For years, I’ve been trying this and that and the other to try and get the balance I need. After doing some research, I tried to make it for myself and it has been tested an approved!

You no longer have to wake up in the morning to a slick forehead, oily nose or a greasy chin. This butter will neutralize your t-zone, making it significantly less oily. It will also soften up the texture of your skin.

Using it is easy! This is designated for a night-time routine that is quick and easy.”

I’ve been using both products for two weeks now.  I love the scent of the Pumpkin Pie butter, it lingers all day, and goes well with my LUSH Cosmetics Glogg Shower Gel.  I just want to eat myself up ..  It keeps my skin soft and moisturized.  A little goes a long way.

The Neutralizing Butter I use mostly at night. I have started using it in the day on the weekends since I have more time.  My skin is less oily.  I noticed this after a few days use.  I did experience purging breakouts more so on my forehead that went away a few days later.  This only means the stuff is working and removing impurities from my skin.

A “real” review will come after a month or so of use.

Review: Ruby Kisses Super Gloss Iced Coffee (Swatches)

I won a Ruby Kisses Cosmetics twitter giveaway.  The prize pack included a bunch of goodies from this super affordable cosmetics line, such as eyeshadow, eyeshadow primer, glitter liner, all over glow and more.

The first product from this line I’m going to review is their Super Gloss in Iced Coffee.  I apologize for the wear of the lipgloss tube, but, it’s a fave lippie now that’s been smashed around in my bag.

Description:

Mouth-watering flavors and lip-enticing colors combine into one Super Gloss. Our new non-sticky formula, infused with vitamin E and aloe vera, will help protect, nourish and moisturize your lips with lustrous shine.

Typical lip gloss applicator.  It picks up just the right amount of product.

Pros:

-The color is the perfect nude gloss.

-It has the right amount of shine.

-It’s not tacky, too thick, or heavy.

-It has just the right amount of shimmer, which isn’t teeny bopperish

-Yummy light vanilla scent

-Keeps my lips moist.

-It looks great alone or over another lipstick. I use it on top of my NYX Jumbo lip pencil in Rose Brown.

-Super Affordable – $1.99

Cons:

-Doesn’t last too long.

Overall, it’s a great product at an affordable price.  I would recommend the Super Gloss unless you have allergies to scented products. It comes in 12 shades, and I can’t wait to try some other colors.  Who knows, I may pick them all up, especially since they are $1.99.

These products can be found at your local beauty supply store.  I’ve also found the products here.

FYI:  If you follow me on twitter, you’ve probably seen that I love their Menthol Lip Salvation.  It keeps my lips soft and moist.

Have you tried any of Ruby Kisses Cosmetics Products?

Which are your favorites?

Disclaimer:  I received these products in a prize pack for free.  I was not paid for this post.  These are my honest opinions.

The Makeup Show Holiday Pop-up Shop Haul

Saturday, December 3, 2011 I attended The Makeup Show’s Holiday Pop-up shop.  I arrived late, around 3 p.m. since I had mommy duties to attend to beforehand.

I arrived just in-time to see celebrity makeup artist, James Vincent giving a seminar “Beauty for All Ages.”

Description:

As client’s age, their skin and their makeup needs change with them. This critical event will help you understand how to maximize your knowledge of product and make you look their most radiant at any age. Celebrity Artist James Vincent gives insight into the products and application that has led him to work with personalities ranging from Lady Gaga and Liv Tyler to Joan Jett and Barack Obama and can keep you looking your best.

What I learned….

I learned that he sometimes uses kool-aid as a cheek color.

He always lines lips with a skin tone lip pencil so when the lip color fades you’re not left with a color-lined lip.

He applies liner after he does the mascara.

There was a lot more, but, I would suggest taking one of the pro seminars to learn more tricks.

I didn’t get much from the pop-up shop.  I stayed within my budget as well.
