Especially for the Goddess in You: Introducing DIOSA Nail polish – Win a free Manicure!

“DIOSA” is the spanish word for “Goddess”. The creator, Diana Long believes that the amazing women in our lives should be treated like the DIOSAs they are.  She states, “Being a woman is a gift and we should be appreciative of all the gifts in our lives, right?”

About DIOSA:

DIOSA aims to accomplish three goals:

(1) Good Polish!
Provide high quality, non-toxic, vegan-friendly nail polish in irresistible colors!

(2) Inspire by putting a face with the nails:
DIOSA will put a face with the nails. I want the DIOSA women in their 20s-30s yrs old to inspire their peers and the girls in our lives who are in need of positive role models. We will accomplish this by sharing the stories about how the women who wear DIOSA Nail Polish got to where they are today. Our women are multi-dimensional, if they can do it, so can you!

(3) Remind hard-working women that it OK to be who they are!
Nail polish is a small, temporary, and affordable way to express our individuality, personality, or mood. I also want women to remind women to take some “me” time… like polishing your nails once a week. Look good while working hard!

By wearing this polish you are spreading the message that we can inspire each other and those who come after us!

Nail polish will be available for sale in June 2012 and the official website will be launched the same date.

Here is a sneak preview of DIOSA’s upcoming shades from its D-Day Collection available online June 2012!

Cleanse face and dry. Apply thinly and evenly over face and neck with fingertips, avoiding eyes, lips and hair. Relax for 10-20 minutes or when totally dry gently peel off masque (never pull) wash off any stuck bits with water. Pat dry. Use weekly.

My thoughts:

I normally like to use peel-off masks, especially as a teen.  It made giving myself a facial fun, and the end result was worth it.  I enjoyed using the Montagne Jeunesse Green Tea Peel-Off Face Mask because it was simple to use.  You just apply it, wait for it to dry, then peel it off.  Make sure you apply it evenly so that you are able to pull it off in one, full sweep.  Also, it helps to puff up your cheeks and make funny faces when the mask is drying because it helps to loosen it up, especially around the corners of your mouth.

My skin was left softer, and refreshed.  It wasn’t amazing, but, you get what you get for $1.99.

Would I recommend?

Great buy for the cost; it’s $1.99 per packet at Ulta.  Also, you can easily get up to 3 uses per packet.  Definitelyworth the price.  Perfect product for someone who is a beginner at doing at-home facials.

Haul: LUSH Soaps – Alkmaar, Miranda, Sexy Peel, Sultana of Soap

This is what my hubby picked up for me from LUSH Union Square for Valentine’s Day. I mentioned I wanted these soaps in a post I’d written in January. He actually remembered which soaps I wanted too! How sweet. It’s the little things 🙂  Honestly, some of the soaps/products there smell like booty, but, these were my most favorite.

Description: If you’ve been into a LUSH shop, you probably noticed that our soaps look a lot like blocks of cheese. To confuse people even more we cut our soap on cutting boards, weigh it, and then wrap it in deli paper to be sold. Alkmaar is named after a city in the Netherlands famous for its cheese markets where big rounds of delicious cheeses are sold. This soap doesn’t smell like cheese though! It has a creamy sexy jasmine and honeysuckle scent with smokey vetivert undertones.

Cost: $7.95/3.5 oz

Description:  A fresh fruit salad of a soap, Miranda is made with fresh, organic fruit bursting with vitamin C and gently cleanse the skin. Simply fruit-tastic.

Review: LUSH Angel’s Delight Soap

LUSH Angel's Delight Soap

I purchased this in January during LUSH’s holiday sale.  It came with two other items, the Shimmy Shimmy glitter bar and Snow Fairy Shower Gel (love the scent).

Out of the LUSH soap bars I’ve had the opportunity to try, this one is probably one of my least favorites.  I do like the smell.  The scent reminds me of fruit punch.  What I did not like was that it did not last long at all. I felt like after the first use, half of the bar was gone.  .:Womp Womp:. I’m kind of glad I didn’t pay full-price for it, otherwise I would have been upset.  The bar lathered nicely, and my skin felt clean, but not dried out after rinsing.  I can’t really say much about it because it didn’t last long enough.

The soap is only limited to Christmas holiday time.  I do not know why that is when it doesn’t smell like anything related to Christmas time.  Christmas scents, to me, are cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg; spice-type scents.  Angel’s Delight is a sweeter, fruit-punchy type scent.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining because I do love the scent, and it lingers.

Would I recommend?

If I had to go on scent only, I would re-purchase, otherwise my money is staying right in my pocket.
