After Thanksgiving, I purchased some items from Cherry Culture since they were having a sale, and there were products I’ve been wanting to try. After seeing so many rave reviews from beauty enthusiasts and makeup artists about the LA Girl Pro Concealers, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to purchase them. Plus, the LA Girl Pro concealers were $2.50 each, and I had a discount code for 20% off, can you say: “Score!” Needless to say, I purchased ALL 18 shades some for my makeup kit, and to swatch for you all as well.
These are swatches of 8 out of the 18 Shades:
If you’re wondering which of these I use on myself, I use Fawn and Toffee. Toffee is great for covering under eye circles since it has more of a peach/salmon undertone. I also use these on my clients. The coverage is amazing! It blends easily, and it doesn’t crease or fade. Great product, at an affordable price.
I really wish I’d doubled up on these. A fail on my part.
I took advantage of the Zoya 3 for free promotion. Since I’m into dark shades, especially during the winter, I chose Raven, Cynthia, and Dakota. All of them are my favorites for different reasons; however, since receiving my Zoya polishes, I’ve rocked Zoya ‘Dakota’ more often.
Zoya ‘Dakota’, I would describe as the perfect oxblood red polish, which is very much ‘in’ right now. Usually, I’m not a fan of red polishes, but, this one has me hooked. The only downside is that with two coats, it comes off a little sheer; therefore, to achieve the color payoff, and opacity that I like I used three coats.
This is my current ‘Nail of the Week’ using Zoya ‘Dakota’ with Zoya’s ‘Gloria‘ as an accent on my ring fingers.
Here are the other polishes – ‘Raven‘ and ‘Cynthia‘
I added some nail glitter that I purchased from Avon. I’m working on my nail art skills. By the way, that glitter is sooo messy!
Last week I reviewed Reviva Labs Hawaiian Seaweed Facial Cleansing Milk. Have you check out my review? If you haven’t tried Reviva Labs products yet, what are you waiting on? They’re amazing! The best part is that they are affordable (and cruelty-free)!
Twice a week, or whenever I have time, which is usually on a Sunday, I give myself at-home spa treatments. These treatments include facials, manicures and pedicures. Since using Reviva Labs skincare products, I have a new at-home spa facial regimen. After a few weeks of doing this, my skin is softer, smoother, and brighter. My skin looks healthier than ever. A coworker even commented that “I have to speak to your husband because you look like you are getting too much sleep. You look nice.” Another coworker stated that I had “the glow”… the pregnancy glow; however, I am not at all pregnant ..
Here is how to use Reviva Labs products for an at-home spa facial:
1. First, cleanse skin with the Hawaiian Seaweed Cleansing Milk.
2. After rinsing off the cleanser, apply the Reviva Labs Pomegranate/Lactic Acid Exfoliant. I love this exfoliant because it is gentle, and natural. You get immediate results, too.
3. Let the Exfoliant dry 3 to 4 minutes, then rub off with fingers. Rinse off any extra debris with water or wet washcloth.
4. Wait a few minutes, then apply the Reviva Labs Hawaiian Seaweed Face Mask in a medium to heavy coat and leave on for 20-30 minutes. 5. Remove with a warm wet face cloth. Your skin will already look brighter, fresher and feel softer.
6. Apply your moisturizer, or use the Reviva Labs Makeup Primer #202, which doesn’t only have to be used under makeup. It can serve as a one-of-a-kind moisturizer. It leaves the skin feeling soft as silk! It works well as a makeup primer, too! Review will come soon.

Last week, via my instagramaccount, I gave everyone a sneak peak at tarte’s latest beauty collection: tarte ‘journey to natural beauty’. This collection, which is available ONLY on February 5, 2013, exclusively on QVC, has some really cool, fun, and fashionable items. I’m loving the chic bag, that can double as a clutch for a night out on the town. What makes it even better, is that all of the products fit nicely into the bag with room for more!
The tarte ‘journey to natural beauty’ collection is a 6-piece collection that enables you to create a flawless, polished look in minutes using some of tarte’s fan favorites, as well as three new items:
tarte created a 3-in1 brow perfector to easily shape and define brows, so no more reaching for a separate concealer, brow comb, and pencil.
Tips:1st Brush brows using the brow brush 2nd Hide strays and shape the brow using the underscoring concealer, which is more like a cream, but in powder form if that makes sense? 3rd Fill and define the brow with the universal pencil. 4th Brush your brows into place.
I like how natural my brows look after using this product. They don’t look at all stenciled on. I don’t have the halo-effect that I can’t stand to see that most girls are rocking nowadays.
3 shade options are available: fair -light, medium-tan, and deep
tarte has amazing mascara! In fact, one made my 2012 beauty favorites list! The new lights, camera, flashes™ mascara boasts to increase lash volume by a whopping 752% for an intensified look. Plus, the packaging in itself is just pretty. It’s a soft, metallic gold, faux leather case.
airbrush finish bamboo foundation brush (retail $32)
This brush is truly amazing. I like to use it to buff in my foundation rather than apply it. My only issue with it is that it is hard to get into smaller areas with it, but, the overall application of product with this brush is amazing, and it is soft! I like that the brush with the ‘journey to natural beauty’ collection has the same design as the travel bag.
Amazonian clay 12-hour full-coverage foundation (retail price $38)
Achieve better, longer, and truer wear, thanks to this skintuitive™ total-balancing Amazonian clay-powered foundation.
You can see my video review on this foundation on my youtube channel: MakeupbyKimPorterThe limitation with this foundation, of course, is that the deepest shade is ‘deep’ so, if you’re any shade darker than me, this isn’t for you. I will not be able to use this shade once the summer comes. .:sigh:. I do like the natural finish, and to be a full-coverage foundation it is lightweight. Also, you really do not need a quarter-sized amount like they suggest. 5 shade options: fair, light, medium, tan, deep
Amazonian clay 12-hour blush (retail price $26)
tarte’s newest shade, ‘fearless’, which is a warm pink, adds a nice, warm, healthy glow, which instantly brightens up the face. It has shimmer. If you’re not a fan of shimmer, this blush may not be for you; however, when applied with a duo fiber brush you don’t get much shimmer. Honestly, on myself, the gold flecks look amazing on my skin; the blush does come off very pretty, and natural.
NEW Amazonian butter lipstick (retail price $24)
Drench your lips in moisture with the NEW Amazonian butter lipstick. Infused with nutrient-rich cupuacu and murumuru butter, a few swipes of this creamy lipstick will soften lips. Shade: plummy rose
The tarte journey to natural beauty collection can be pre-ordered on qvc.com item# A233578 or purchased on February 5, 2013 item# A231029 for $59.94. The collection is valued at over $165! I say, it’s the perfect Valentine’s Day treat for yourself or loved one.
