Review: The Baddest Felt Tip Eyeliner of All Time – Ardency Inn Punker

Disclosure: Product was provided to me for review consideration.  All opinions are my own, and are 100% honest.

Ardency Inn Punker

Makeup artist, James Vincent who is famous for working with rock stars, and is the director of artistry and education for Ardency Inn, spoke nothing but goodness about the Ardency Inn Punker Eyeliner.  If you know James, and you know about his little brown bag, which is his makeup kit, you know just how serious he is about his makeup, tools, and what really works.  I’ve seen the product demo’d via his social media accounts, and during The Makeup Show blogger preview, and was excited to finally have the baddest felt tip eyeliner of all time.

What is the Ardency Inn Punker eyeliner?

Ardency Inn Punker Eyeliner is a liquid liner with a fine point, felt tip applicator that makes it easy to draw any shape of cat eye precisely and instantly,  from the most subtle to the most dramatic.

  • Quick-dry long lasting formula eliminates smudging
  • Glycerin allows for a smooth glide-on application
  • Short and thick “maker pen” design allows for optimum control during application
  • For optimum ink flow, store horizontally and wipe the tip with a tissue after use

My thoughts:

Ahh! I can honestly say that I’ve retired the bulk of my eyeliners, and have used the Ardency Inn Punker eyeliner from the day I got it even up until now.  Needless to say, I am, indeed, OBSESSED with it.  Just check my instagram for the flawless application of a true black winged eyeliner, which I can’t seem to part with.  I also love the versatility of the product. You can smudge the liner, or do more dramatic winged liner.  Have you tried a double winged liner and failed?  Try doing it with the Ardency Inn Punker eyeliner, it will work.  It’s really easy for a novice to use, too.

I would recommend this liner if you’re looking for a black liner that will help you perfect your winged eyeliner and/or cat eye.  To me, it’s worth the $19, since I’ve had mine since May, and it has yet to dry out, and is working as good as it has from day one.  Now, if only Ardency Inn made the liner in more colors, like purple or blue, I’d be even more happy. .:Hint, Hint:.

Retail: $19

Where to purchase:  ArdencyInnstore.com or exclusively at Sephora or Sephora.com

Review: Perlier Crackling Body Water Lemon Sorbet Refreshing Ice Granita #PerlieronHSN

Disclosure:  Product was provided to Makeup by Kim Porter for review consideration by the company through iFabbo.  All opinions are my own, and are 100% honest. perlier crackling body water lemon sorbet refreshing ice granita

Perlier introduced their Crackling Body Water the earlier part of the summer as a refreshing, cool treat for your skin when the heat and humidity become too much. Knowing how unforgiving summers in New York City are, when I first saw the Perlier Crackling Body Water Lemon Sorbet Refreshing Ice Granita, I was intrigued, and couldn’t wait to try it.  In fact, lemon granita’s are my favorite summertime treat, I like to make for my husband and myself.

My Thoughts:

When I received my Perlier Crackling Body Water Lemon Sorbet Refreshing Ice Granita from iFabbo courtesy of Perlier, I immediately popped open the package and posted a picture on instagram, then I tried it.  Really, what would life be without instagram?

My first reaction was of course to the scent, once you spray it on you get a burst of lemon that doesn’t linger too long, which I like since I am not a fan of citrus fragrances for myself. The scent itself is refreshing; however, I believe for me, that’s where the experience ended.  Beyond the Perlier Crackling Body Water Lemon Sorbet Refreshing Ice Granita reminding me of what the 70’s candy, Pop Rocks would feel like if I added water to them and held it in my hand, I was not impressed.  Maybe I expected more or too much.  Maybe it was the consistency of the product that left me thinking “What is this?”  It’s fun, yes, but, it’s not more than that – for me. It’s not really moisturizing, and not really cooling.  It’s just a good novelty item with a refreshing scent.

Needless to say, it isn’t something I would purchase, especially costing $24.00 per 5 fl oz on HSN.com.  There are people who love this product, maybe that will be you.  I’m a big fan of not knocking something until you try it.  Normally, I love Perlier items, but this one left me with a bit of sour taste in my mouth. Ha, did you see that? No pun intended. Really.

Review: The Best Brush Cleaner Ever! Clean Brush Shampoo Lemon Olive Oil

Clean Brush Shampoo Before

On a whim, since I never really win anything, I entered Camera Ready Cosmetic’s instagram contest (go follow them now if you’re not), where they were giving away the Clean Brush Shampoo Lemon Olive Oil scent.  I’ve heard great things about solid brush shampoos, so when I was chosen as the winner, I was super excited, and I couldn’t wait to break out my dirty brushes to try it out.  Once my package of the Clean Brush Shampoo Lemon Olive Oil arrived – it came fast, too – I whipped out my dirty brushes because you can’t have flawless makeup application with dirty tools.

About Clean Brush Shampoo

The Clean Brush Olive Oil Shampoo is a solid brush shampoo that contains olive oil (obviously), along with other natural oils, such as palm oil, tea tree oil, coconut oil, safflower oil, and lemon essential oil.

My thoughts:

Clean Brush Shampoo is by far one of the best shampoos I’ve used – in my Tamar Braxton voice, “Point blank, period!” I haven’t bought brush soaps in a while, as I’ve been using regular dish soap, and spray brush cleaners in between uses.  But this solid brush cleaner works!

To test the Clean Brush Shampoo Lemon Olive Oil cleaning abilities, I used it on a lip brush that was saturated with lip tar and gloss, a foundation brush that I had used with liquid foundation, and an eye shadow brush that I used with a colored eye shadow that usually stains.

Clean Brush Shampoo After

The Clean Brush Shampoo Lemon Olive Oil cleaned the foundation brush, and  eye shadow brush with one swoosh; however, the lip tars, took at least two cleansings to get it completely removed from the lip brush, which is still less time it takes me to clean with regular dish soap.

After my brushes dried, they were not heavily scented with lemon, which I liked.  My brushes were soft, too! I can attribute that to the natural oils included in the product.  And no, there was no oily residue.  I can also rest assure my brushes were clean and sanitized, due to the disinfecting properties of good ole tea tree oil.

I would definitely recommend the Clean Brush Shampoo, and can’t wait to try the other scents!
