Just a few weeks ago I mentioned my goal for the year (and beyond) is to achieve healthier hair.  My hair has been giving me problems for the longest.  The winter weather dries it out, and my hair is thinning. I needed an hair intervention.  I think the hair care gods heard my cries because Gloss48 -we’ll consider them my hairy god mothers – sent over hair products from the indie brand Grow Gorgeous.

For those unfamiliar with Gloss48, they’re an online shop offering on a daily basis, beauty junkies like me (and you) the best and latest products from niche brands.  If you know me, you know I love niche brands! Gloss 48 is like heaven for me. For the first week a new product is showcased on Gloss48, a promotional discount is offered, which is great because it allows you to try the product at a lower cost; however, on day eight, the promotional price ends, but you are still able to shop the collection just at full price.

The road to healthy hair includes achieving and maintaining a health scalp, protecting against external damage like weather and heat, and not causing further damage by using products that strip the hair.  All of the aforementioned are what Grow Gorgeous products are meant to do. Plus, all of their products are sulfate-free and paraben-free.

The Grow Gorgeous products that were sent to me include:

Back into the Roots Stimulating Hair Mask  This minty, stimulating hair mask promises to revive and nourish your roots and boost scalp circulation in 10 minutes to stimulate visible hair growth and improve scalp health.

Cleansing Conditioner -This multi-tasking cleansing conditioner replaces the need for separate shampoo and conditioner to leave hair looking clean, healthy, thick and lustrous.

Cleansing Conditioner (Brunette) – This multi-tasking cleansing conditioner replaces the need for separate shampoo and conditioner to leave hair looking clean, healthy, thick and lustrous whilst enhancing subtle brunette tones.

I can’t wait to report on my results with using these Grow Gorgeous hair products. If these products interest you, there’s good news.  Starting today, Grow Gorgeous products will be available on Gloss48 for 20-25% off from 11:00 a.m. through Thursday, February 12th at 11:00 a.m.

Indulging in “Me” Time with LUSH Valentine’s Day Treats #TheyDoExist

LUSH Valentine's Day Collection

THE BEAUTY COUNCIL POST HEADER

PR SAMPLE

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I thought it fitting to share my plans for this special day of love.  Trust me, it isn’t what you think.  Although I am married, I’ve never bought into the one commercial day to show my significant other that I love him and I’m in-love with him.  However, that doesn’t mean I do not do small things on that day either.  Last year for example, I put together a three-course gourmet dinner (menu created by the 71ateChef).  This year, however, I’m trying something different by romancing myself; I’m indulging in “Me” time with LUSH Valentine’s Day Treats.

I don’t want to get into why, but, if you’re a full-time working mom that has one million and one things going on, you know that having ‘me time’ is rare.  Thank God Valentine’s Day this year falls on a Saturday, which means I can ship off my mini me somewhere after her dance class, and take a nice long bath with one of the LUSH Valentine’s Day Treats: Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar (3.5 oz/$7.95) or Floating Flower Bath Bomb (4 oz/$6.95).

LUSH Valentines Day Unicorn Horn

The LUSH Unicorn Horn is an excellent choice to de-stressing after the end of a long day.  The blend of jasmine and neroli, the latter of which is one of my favorite scents to have in a fragrance, will both leave you feeling relaxed. With the bathroom door shut, and the lights dimmed, and even with a few candles around the tub, I almost feel like I’m at a spa.

LUSH Floating Flower

The LUSH Floating Flower bath bomb also contains what some describe as a seductive fragrance – Jasmine.  That said, Floating Flower is definitely my pick for Valentine’s Day night (or any night) since after a relaxing bath, I should be ready to take my relaxation to the bedroom.  Oops, TMI!  Anyway, the Floating Flower bath bomb not only leaves your water bright pink, and scented with Jasmine, the bathroom, my hallway and my skin are left smelling like this beautiful bath bomb, too. If you love the Flying Fox shower gel, you’ll love Floating Flower.

I know LUSH suggests using the entire Unicorn Horn or Floating Flower bomb during one bath session; however, I found that just breaking off a small piece when I needed it sufficed.

I’ve also been sharing the love by allowing my mini me indulge in some of my LUSH Valentine’s Day Treats.  I mean, if your toddler can tell you she’s had a hard week, then why not let her have a pampering bath time moment, too, right? I mean it does go along with the theme of Valentine’s Day: giving and showing love.

Whether you go out for Valentine’s Day or you’re like me, and choose to celebrate the day by giving yourself “Me” time, I’d love to know what you have planned for Valentine’s Day this year.

Check out the other LUSH Valentine’s Day treats, and let me know if you pick up any or have any favorites 🙂  Remember they’re only available for a limited time, so pick them up while they’re still available.

LUSH Snowcake Soap Review

LUSH Snowcake SoapI BOUGHT THIS | AFFILIATE LINKS

The LUSH Snowcake Soap was picked up during the LUSH BOGO sale that I mentioned a few weeks ago. Out of all of the other items I purchased from the sale, I chose to review Snowcake Soap because it was one of my favorites out of my purchase.  I’m currently kicking myself in the butt for not stocking up on it because I love it so much.

Snowcake Soap is a beautiful cream-based soap with a dusting of gold on top (LUSH calls it ‘Golden Lustre’).  Don’t worry, the gold washes off in the shower.  However, I do sort of wish it stayed – just a bit. My skin loves the moisturizing effects provided from using the LUSH Snowcake Soap. Instead of being drying like some bar soaps I’ve used, Snowcake Soap is moisturizing as all ever.  Another thing I love about Snowcake Soap is how rich and creamy it is when it lathers up.  Compared to Yog Nog, Snowcake provides much more lather.  The lather, once rinsed off, does not leave residue; however, your skin is left feeling clean, but not stripped. Make sense?

LUSH Buy One Get One _Snowcake Soap

Snowcake Soap, as I mentioned in my haul post, smells divine.  Had I not known any better, I’d eat it.  It smells so yummy! If you’re into marzipan confectioneries with a hint of vanilla, you’ll love the scent of the LUSH Snowcake Soap.  I love using this soap day or night since it leaves a light, lingering scent.  One night after using it, my husband couldn’t stop sniffing me. A little weird, but, he’s my husband.

Since Snowcake Soap is so cream, there’s one crucial thing I noticed I need to do, which is place it in the refrigerator. Whenever I am in the mood to use it, I cut off a slither to use during my shower time. It’s sort of a pain, but it doesn’t affect my love for this soap.

Unfortunately, the LUSH Snowcake Soap is a seasonal item, and only released around the Christmas holiday season, which is actually a let down. Now you understand why I’m kicking myself for not picking up more.
