Blog reader & follower, Niki Tasha requested a post on How to Sanitize your Makeup When on a Makeup Job.
The products I use to sanitize makeup and brushes while doing makeup, and in between jobs are made by a brand called Beauty So Clean. International Makeup Artist, Nancy Crosley developed the Beauty So Clean products out of concern that the makeup and tools she was using on her clients were becoming contaminated with bacteria while working on different clients throughout the day. For many years, people have used alcohol to clean their makeup; however, alcohol dries out and damages most makeup products.
Beauty So Clean has three products to keep your makeup and tools bacteria free! They are the Cosmetic Sanitizer Mist, Cosmetic Sanitizer Wipes, and the Conditioning Brush Cleaner. I purchased all three of these products (in Pro Size) from Alcone Co either online or at The Makeup Show New York this past May.
I like all of the products. It makes sanitizing my makeup so easy. Since I am anal about cleanliness; I clean my brushes almost immediately after use, I never use the same mascara wand twice, I don’t double dip into the products I use, I always use a spatula etc. Using these definitely takes the pain out of cleaning my makeup and brushes.
***Keeping your makeup and tools clean is important to prevent the spread of germs, breakouts, and other serious illness.
