My thoughts: I can’treally say too much about the product because it just didn’t work for me. The company sent me two different shades.  The True Mahogany was sent to me first, which wasn’t the correct shade, and had an olive undertone, which looked horribly on my skin.  Mind you, that is the darkest shade in the line. I tried another shade, Terracotta Sand which had a yellow undertone, but still was too light and off in color.  Both of the shades sent to me gave off that ashen look, which I will give credit to the titanium dioxide and SPF.

This is how it dried on my finger. Ashen & powdery

This line is not meant for people with darker skintones.  I’ve read several reviews from women who raved about the product; however, they all had fair skin. I think that the NeoStrata Company should work on extending the colors in their product line if they want to attract women of color. I did like the consistency of the product. It was like a whipped cream texture.  That does me no good if I can’t use it.

Based on my experience with this product, I do not recommend.

Another product this company sent to me was the CoverBlend Multi-function SPF 15 Concealer in Mahogany (darkest shade).

My thoughts:  I liked this product.  I’m a fan of liquid concealers, especially in the summer because it doesn’t move, and it didn’t crease. It’s full-coverage, and even though I don’t have much darkness under my eyes, I just use a little tiny bit & dab it on with my fingers, and it gets the job done.  The color match was good, and it seemed to brighten the area up a little too.  My only problem with this is again, the number of shades; there are only four(4).  Companies need to realize the large variety of skintones out here. That is if they are trying to reach those on the darker end of the spectrum.

If you’re looking for a full-coverage concealer with SPF I would recommend this one. It worked for me.  Remember, just because something worked for someone else doesn’t mean it will work for you.

Wishlist: MAC Dare to Wear Collection

MAC’s releasing way too many collections at once it seems. I’m probably passing on the Digipops collection, and .:gasp:. the Venomous Villains, as well as the Feline Collection.  I don’t really need anything from any of those.  What I did see that I want are a few items from the Dare to Wear Collection.  You can see all of the collection on Temptalia’s site.

U.S. Launch Date: July 29th, 2010

What do I want from this collection?

The very 1st item I saw that I felt I needed was the Sassy Grass Eyeshadow, which is a bright matte grassy green color.  I’ve wanted a green like this for a while, and the only one I have that’s close to it is in my 120 palette.

I also want…

Louder Please – Bright Fuschia (Matte)

Shock-a-holic – Deep purple (matte)

Atlantic Blue Eyeshadow – Bright Violet Blue (Matte)

As you can see I love mattes and brights! ..

I’m not sure if I will get any of the lip products from this collection. I will have to see them in-person in order to make a decision.

Do you plan on getting anything from this collection or any of the others mentioned above? If so, what?

If not, why?

Haul: Hair Removal Edition

I purchased these two hair removal creams from Avon’s Skin So Soft line; Fresh & Smooth Sensitive Skin Hair Removal Cream ($8) and the Fresh & Smooth Facial Hair Removal Cream ($5).  I haven’t used either, but a co-worker of mine suggested the facial hair removal cream since she’s been using it for years. I needed something to handle my little lip hairs .. I am too scared to wax or thread them away.  BTW: I’ve been practicing threading!

NOTE: I did use the hair removal cream for the body (larger container) on my sister’s underarms (she’s been my test dummy for years), and although it says it’s for sensitive skin, it burned her; however, I tested it on both of my knee caps, and had no reaction.  The cream took about 2-3 minutes to work, and wiped off easily.  I’ll have a review soon after I use it.

They do have a waxing kit that I want to try.

How do you get rid of your hair (facial & body)?

Have you tried any of these products? If so, how did you like or not like them?
