L’Occitane for Me? Sure, why not!

L'Occitane Shower Gel — L-R: L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil & Fleur De Vanille Shower Gel

My super amaze-balls husband picked up some L’Occitane products for me for Valentine’s Day and just because. As you can see, I damn near KILLED each bottle. I’ve wanted these for the longest. I placed them on my pinterest wishlist board, and he got them for me out of the blue. How thoughtful, right?

Both the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil ($24) and the Fleur De Vanille Shower gel leave my skin, exceptionally soft, and lightly scented. You can definitely tell when I use either product because once I leave the bathroom door open, the scent escapes and lingers throughout the house, even to the next floor!

I honestly prefer the Almond Shower Oil over the regular shower gel. I think the scent is better, and it lathers more. I love when my shower gels lather well.

L’Occitane describes the Almond Shower Oil as follows:

The Almond Shower Oil transforms into a lavish, softening foam that gently cleanses, leaving a satiny softness all over the body. Rich in Almond oil and nourishing lipids, this shower oil can also be used for shaving, allowing the razor to glide smoothly over the skin.

The husband also picked up for me, the Limited Edition L’Occitane Shea Butter Date Bouquet Ultra Rich Body Cream ($22). It’s thick, creamy, and lightweight. It has a light, fresh scent, too! I love it. I’ve only been using it for a little over two weeks, and I’m halfway done with the product. I’m way too heavy-handed when it comes to applying body products. That’s what’s going to kill my pockets! LOL But, who likes to go out with dry, ashy skin? NO ONE! Anyway, I like how my skin feels after using this. It’s soft, and moisturized. It lasts throughout the day, too!

This cream is described as:

IBM Smarter Commerce: Photo Shoot with The Vixin Experience #MySmarterCommerce

Remember when I announced I was apart of the IBM Smarter Commerce campaign? I’m still in the campaign, and as I mentioned in my introductory post, I am going to talk about my journey as an makeup artist.

Recently, I spent my Saturday morning with the fabulous Dana of The Vixin Experience, doing her makeup along with three other beautiful ladies for a photo shoot. Dana is taking her smarter commerce to the next level by selling t-shirts with her brand. She blogs, does interviews, and during the photo shoot, I learned she’s also responsible for the photography and photo editing; now that is smarter commerce at its best. Purchase a t-shirt HERE

Social media played a significant role in my obtaining this makeup gig. Although I know Dana from our college days, we’ve stayed connected through blogging, and other social media outlets, such as twitter, facebook and instagram. I often post my face of the days, or makeup looks I’ve created on other people on my social media accounts, which attracts potential clients. Due to our connections on these accounts, Dana was able to see the quality of my work, and opted to hire me.

Kit Essentials: LA Girl Pro Concealer More Shades, Pictures & Swatches

As promised here is the other 10 (out of 18) LA Girl Pro Concealer shades. These concealers, I would say are a dupe for the Make Up For Ever HD Concealers; the consistency, application, wear, blend-ability are just as good. Plus, these are way, way more affordable. I’d definitely recommend these for a makeup artist who is just starting out and is unable to afford high-end products.

The LA Girl Pro Concealer comes with a brush tip applicator. The applicator is perfect for getting into smaller areas like under the eye, corners of the nose,and for spot treatment; however, if you are using these in your makeup kit on clients, I wouldn’t recommend using the brush applicator, especially when using the products around mucous membranes, such as the nose, eyes and mouth. You don’t want to get anyone sick or contaminate your product! I would recommend depotting them.

Kit Essentials: LA Girl Pro Concealer {Photos & Swatches}

After Thanksgiving, I purchased some items from Cherry Culture since they were having a sale, and there were products I’ve been wanting to try. After seeing so many rave reviews from beauty enthusiasts and makeup artists about the LA Girl Pro Concealers, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to purchase them. Plus, the LA Girl Pro concealers were $2.50 each, and I had a discount code for 20% off, can you say: “Score!” Needless to say, I purchased ALL 18 shades some for my makeup kit, and to swatch for you all as well.

These are swatches of 8 out of the 18 Shades:

If you’re wondering which of these I use on myself, I use Fawn and Toffee. Toffee is great for covering under eye circles since it has more of a peach/salmon undertone. I also use these on my clients. The coverage is amazing! It blends easily, and it doesn’t crease or fade. Great product, at an affordable price.

I really wish I’d doubled up on these. A fail on my part.
