My Thoughts:

With the Beauty Box 5 subscription you definitely get more than what you pay for.  The value of the items I received was close to $40, plus, there’s free shipping. The value of this Beauty Box 5 subscription is great, especially for the items you receive for just $12! I love the idea of beauty box subscriptions since they allow you to experience brands and products you wouldn’t normally venture to try on your own.

I wish you were able to give details about your likes and dislikes so that the items you receive are catered more towards your needs, skin type, hair type etc.  However, for the price, how can I even complain?

Would I recommend Beauty Box 5?

I’d recommend the Beauty Box 5 Subscription beauty box service since it’s affordable and allows you to try different luxury brands, and indie brands.  It’s a great subscription box service, I think for teenageers who are just getting into beauty and cosmetics.  Really, if you’re a cosmetic newbie or a beauty guru, and like to splurge on high-end items or be a savvy spender,  the Beauty Box 5 subscription service has something to offer you.

Review: Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream is the Perfect Fix for Dry Hands

I am addicted to hand creams. I hate walking around with dry, ashen, and cracked hands. Dry hands get even worse during the winter time due to the cold weather, which is why my purse is always stocked with some form of hand cream.  don’t you just hate it when someone reaches for something and you white, ashen skin in between their fingers?  Anyway, I’d run out of my favorite L’Occitane hand cream, and haven’t had the chance to visit an L’Occitane boutique so, I picked up some Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream at my local drugstore, CVS.

What is it?

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream is a concentrated, long-lasting, glycerin-rich hand cream formulated to leave your hands soft and smooth after just one application.  The Neutrogena website states “This clinically proven, highly concentrated formula rapidly heals dry hands. It noticeably improves the look and feel of your skin.”

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream

My Thoughts:

I wash my hands a lot, or if I’m not washing them, I’m either bathing my daughter, washing hair or dishes; my hands are often wet.  Wet hands lead to dry skin, which worsen during cold weather. Dry skin, if left untreated can lead to cracked skin, thus leading to sore hands and potentially a skin infection.  Who wants that? Plus, dry and ashen hands are just not cute!

As previously mentioned, I walk around with hand lotion because I hate having dry hands.  I’d picked up the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream because of the description, and the price; it’s affordable at $4.99 for 2 oz.  Since the hand cream is concentrated, you only need a small, pea-sized amount to hydrate your hands.

The Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream works! My hands are immediately left feeling softer, more smooth and youthful-looking.  True story, my friend used some of my hand cream a few weeks back and loved it.  She said “Kim, give me that hand cream! It made my hands so soft, and they look like young hands.”  ..  I eventually gave her an extra cream I had in my stash at home. Friends don’t let friends have dry hands.

The Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream comes in two formulas, scented and unscented.  I used the unscented version.  I would also like to add that the consistency of the hand cream takes some getting used to.  The Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream is thick, and may seem a little stick at first, but that feeling goes away once it is massaged into your skin.  If you use too much of the hand cream be warned that your hands will turn white, until you thoroughly massage it in.

Would I recommend?

Neutrogena’s Norwegian Formula  Hand Cream has been around for 40 years fighting dry, cracked, chapped hands, nails and lips.  This unscented formula is perfect for those with who are not fond of fragrance or have sensitivities.  If you’re on a budget, it’s great since it’s $4.99 and can be found at your local drugstore where you can probably score it at a discounted price and use a coupon.

Review: Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula

What is the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula?

Unlike some other foaming cleansers that can leave skin feeling dry, tight or irritated, Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser provides a superior clean without the damage. Its patented formula is gentle enough for all skin types and clinically proven to protect skin’s natural barrier, while removing 99% of dirt, oil and makeup.

Why its foaming formula is superior:

Hypoallergenic fragrance

Removes 99% of impurities without over-drying

No added parabens, soaps or dyes

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Lauryl Glucoside, Potassium Acrylates Copolymer, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Disodium Lauroamphodiacetate, Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Potassium Sorbate, Fragrance.

My thoughts:

I’ve used Neutrogena products in the past; I’m talking high school years! Yes, that far back.  The only other drugstore brand of skincare products I’ve used since or most recently was Cerave.  I’ve been using the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula for over one month now.  I must say that I am impressed with the results I’ve experienced since using it, and actually prefer it over the Cerave cleanser I’ve used previously, except for one issue, which I will mention later on in this post.

The Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula was gentle enough for me to use both night and day.  It has kept my combination oily skin clean without leaving my skin dry, taught, and feeling stripped.  My pores didn’t clog, and that’s without using it with my Clarisonic. I feel like my skin looked healthier and brighter after using the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula.  My skin felt smooth after rinsing with no residue.  It also removed my makeup well enough for me to use it straight out without using a makeup remover wipe prior to cleansing my face.

I like that the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula is free of sulfates and parabens.  Lately, I’ve been aiming to stay away from products that contain those ingredients.  Also, the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula is free of dyes, therefore, it’s clear.  The formula of the cleanser isn’t watery or thick.  To me, it’s just the right consistency.  It lather’s well enough for me; I love products that lather.

What I didn’t like

The Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula is supposed to be a cleanser made for people with sensitive skin.  Usually, sensitive skin formulations do not contain fragrance, which this product contains.  Although I did not experience any reactions to the fragrance, it still took some getting used to.  Yes, it’s a “hypoallergenic fragrance”, but I prefer my skincare products to be fragrance free, as sometimes I do experience an adverse reaction to fragrance in skincare products.  Hopefully, Neutrogena will re-work their formula to exclude fragrance, and make it a true sensitive skin product.

Would I recommend the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula?

Aside from the fragrance in the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula, which would irritate those sensitive to fragrance, I would recommend this as a daily cleanser. It has been effective in keeping my skin clear, and free of breakouts.  Whenever I use the cleanser, my skin looks and feels amazing. Plus, for $8.99-$9.99 for 12 oz of product, it’s super affordable.  Also, if you’re not into suds, there’s also a hydrating creamy formula.

The Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula can be purchased at your local Target, Walgreens, CVS or Ulta.

Check out my YouTube video to see what other products are part of my current skincare regimen.
