Fragrance Friday: My Billionaire Boyfriend is Cheap!

I picked up the 1.7 fl oz bottle of Kate Walsh’s Billionaire Boyfriend when Hautelook.com  had it on sale for $19.00 (original price $65.00).  It was something I had on my fragrance wish list from last Christmas, and at $19.00, why would I pass that up?

Billionaire Boyfriend Notes:
Bergamot, Tangerine, Green Lush Leaf, Black Jasmine, Black Velvet Orchid, Gardenia, Patchouli Flower, Amber, Cistus, Vetiver, Sandalwood.

I first tried Billionaire Boyfriend during one of my trips to Sephora.  Something about the scent, once it died down caught my attention.   I must admit that in the beginning, it doesn’t smell Billionaire-ish to me at all; it actually smells a bit cheap.  In the beginning, it comes off a little strong and too sweet for my taste; however, as I mentioned before, once it dies down and meld with your body chemistry, you have a nice, seductive and feminine scent.

The bottle of the Billionaire Boyfriend perfume is supposed to be reminiscent of a special reserve champagne bottle with an antiqued platinum-mirrored finish which is supposed to represent “… the wealth and glamour of an old world atelier. “  To be honest, the bottle looks cheap.  I don’t care for the rhinestones around the neck of the bottle top, nor do I care for the semi-matte, platinum-like finish.

If I had to re-purchase Billionaire Boyfriend at the original price, I would not.  I just don’t like how loud and sweet it is in the beginning, which lasts for at least 2-hours, until it finally dies down into a more favorable scent.

Fragrance Friday: Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense

During a visit to Sephora in Union Square for The Style and Beauty Doctor’s & CoverFx’s beauty event, I decided to test out some scents I’ve been wanting to try since I’m on the hunt for a new scent for fall.  Spray, after spray of at least 10 different fragrances, I finally came across one that satisfied my senses; Paco Rabanne Lady Million.   I’m probably going to purchase this sometime in the future.

Paco Rabanne Lady Million has the following notes: Neroli, Bitter Orange, Raspberry, Orange Flower Absolute, Sambac Jasmine Absolute, Gardenia, Patchouli, Honey, Amber. It is described as seductive, bright and luxurious.  It definitely screams luxurious, especially when looking at the packaging; if you’re into bling and shiny things, you’d love it. If not, you’d think it’s tacky.

Review: Perlier Thermal Spa Thermo Renewing Scrub @perlierUSA #PerlierOnHSN

Disclosure:  Product was provided for review consideration.  All opinions are my own and are 100% honest.

Perlier Thermal Spa Thermo Renewing Scrub Jar

Being an iFabbo member, I received the Perlier Thermal Spa Thermo Renewing Scrub courtesy of Perlier to review.  I love having soft, smooth, glowing skin, which is why I exfoliate daily with my mesh shower gloves, but, sometimes using a scrub, scrub is just what the skin needs to really get rid of the dead skin.

The Perlier Thermal Spa Thermo Renewing Scrub from Perlier was created in Italy, concocted with a number of complex ingredients, rich in mineral salts, like water from the hot spring concession in an area of Abana Terme called Padua.  These ingredients aim to combat visible signs of aging, such as the appearance of dull-looking skin, and to smooth skin and rough areas.

Perlier Thermal Spa Thermo Renewing Scrub

My Thoughts:

The Perlier Thermal Spa Thermo Renewing Scrub isn’t like any scrub I’ve ever tried which are usually sea salt or sugar scrubs.  And if you’ve ever used a sea salt or sugar scrub, you know that the particles are usually rough, coarse, and can at times be too abrasive if you’re heavy handed; abrasions and sea salt makes for stingy, unhappy skin.

The Perlier Thermal Spa Thermo Renewing Scrub is gentle on the skin and exfoliates well.  It has a gel-like texture mixed with soft, smooth exfoliating beads and particles.  I even used the scrub with my mesh gloves (over-exfoliate much?), and my skin wasn’t harmed in the act. Perfect! The scrub worked extremely well on one of my toughest areas, my left elbow.  For some reason the skin there is a little rough, and dry.  The scrubs olive oil extract worked wonders in softening the area, and the beads and pumice helped aid in smoothing the area.

When I went to the Perlier Fall/Winter preview earlier this summer, this was a product I was looking forward to mainly due to the scent.  It reminds me of my favorite vacation spot, Puerto Vallarta.  It just took me to a place of relaxation, clarity and happiness.  If this is a preview of what Padua has to offer, count me in.  Italy is on my bucket list of places to visit.  Hopefully, I will be able to soon visit.

If you’re looking for a gentle, exfoliating scrub to add to your fall/winter skincare routine, you might want to try out the Perlier Thermal Spa Thermo Renewing Scrub.

Cost:  $25.00 / 6.7 fl oz.
