Review: Saving Face with Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater

I must admit that I have not used a toner in forever – years maybe.  Strike me dead for committing this beauty sin, however, my skin hasn’t suffered, or so I thought until after trying the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater.

The Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater is described as follows:

“A  refreshing, hydrating mist to use anywhere anytime. Simply formulated with fragrant Herbal Extracts and Rosewater for a pleasant, pick me up for dehydrated, tight and uncomfortable skin. Spray your day and night creams for a boost of hydration or use it to set make-up or spray on dry hair throughout the day.  Safe for all skin types.  Gentle, non-irritating.”

I’ve heard great things about Mario Badescu products as a whole.  I’ve purchased the drying lotion for my sister, which she said worked.  I’ve always wanted to test other Mario Badescu products, so when I had the opportunity to try out the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater, I was more than happy to do so.

My thoughts:

The Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater is of a light rose tint, and has a sweet rose fragrance, that I do not mind. I often find myself misting my face several times to indulge in the wonderful scent of the spray.

I used this spray right after cleansing my face, to keep my skin damp before applying a moisturizer.  I’ve also applied it with a cotton pad as a toner of sorts. It worked well both ways.  The Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater worked well for me in that it kept my skin moisturized, and made it feel fresh.  My skin seemed brighter and clearer, and I also loved the dewy effect that it gave.  The spray does so well in moisturizing my skin, that during NYC’s most recent heat wave I just sprayed my skin with that and used a light SPF product, and went. At night, I used the spray alone sans moisturizer, and my skin still felt soft and moist.

Although the spray can be used to set your makeup, I haven’t tried it for that purpose.

Would I recommend the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater?

Priced at $7.00 for 4 oz, I would definitely purchase the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater again.  It also comes in an 8 oz bottle for $12.  What I also love about this spray, next to the scent and price is that is actually comes out as a fine mist, which is very refreshing. It’s perfect for those hot summer days, as I mentioned above.  The Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater has been the perfect addition to my current skincare regimen.

Have you tried the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater? What are your thoughts on it?

Guest Post: How to Prepare for a Laser or Electrolysis Session – @AleyaBamdad

Electrolysis

Congratulations! You’re on your way to permanently removing or reducing unwanted facial or body hair. Now that you have chosen laser hair treatment or electrolysis and are on your way to envisioning a soft and smooth you, there are several before-treatment preparation tips necessary for achieving the desired results.

If you are already planning to undergo treatment, you are likely past the first step of receiving the initial consultation with your certified technician and have decided which service is best suited for your needs. The next step relies on you. How you prepare for laser or electrolysis before your treatment session is just as important as post laser or electrolysis hair removal treatment. Here’s how you can better prepare for laser and electrolysis hair removal before each session.

Electrolysis

Preparing for Laser & Electrolysis Hair Removal

Preparing for laser hair removal requires patient cooperation to help to ensure desired treatment results.

1. Avoid the sun: Tanning before a procedure, whether you are in the sun or are using sunless tanning products should be avoided before your next laser session. If you have tanned or used sunless tanners, allow the tan to fade.

2. Avoid alternate forms of hair removal: Waxing, shaving, plucking and even electrolysis treatment should be avoided before undergoing laser treatment. Although shaving is okay, temporarily removing the root

3. Avoid stimulants: Caffeinated drinks and alcoholic beverages should be avoided on the day of your treatment session.

4. Remove products from the skin: Before treatment, be sure to remove lotions, deodorants, makeup, or perfumes which could irritate the treated area.

5. Topical anesthetic cream: Before your electrolysis session, ask if you are able to treat the area with a pain-relief cream. Patients may also find it helpful to take Ibuprofen to reduce inflammation and pain before treatment.

If you have yet to meet with a certified technician to discuss treatment options, now is the best time to speak to a professional. Find out which service will work best for you and how you can achieve great results by taking the time to prepare.

Review: BA Star Smoky Eyeshadow Palette {Swatches}

Disclosure: I received this product for free for review purposes only. All opinions are my own and are 100% honest. I was not compensated for this review.

BAStarSmokyEyEyeshadowPalette

I’m a member of Brand Backer, and through them I was offered a chance to review products from BA Star.  BA Star provided their Smoky Eyeshadow Palette ($8.75).

BA Star provides cosmetics used by cheerleaders and dancers, hence all of the fun glitter used in their products. I was sent their Natural Eyeshadow palette which features the following:5 eyeshadows

  • 5 Eyeshadows: 3  Mineral Shadows. Bronze, Cocoa,Nude, 2 Gel Glitters: Gold & Crystal
  • Double Applicator.

The packaging provides application tips for achieving a smoky eye. As well as the following:

  • Add Depth: Glue  Base
  • Add Shine: Glitter Gels
  • Add Glam: More Glitter!

BAStarSmokyEyEyeshadowPalette

When I received the BA Star Smoky Eyeshadow palette, it was packaged wrapped in zebra print tissue paper, enveloped in a simple, clear makeup bag.  To me, it was a bit cheesy, but, I think that it appeals to the company’s intended audience – teens, cheerleaders, twirlers etc.

The eyeshadow pigment of  the BA Star Smoky Eyeshadow Palette is good.  To me, it has enough depth even without a primer.  I had no issues with it blending.  Without a primer, it doesn’t last as long as my other eyeshadows, but, what do you expect for the price?

I like that it comes with three shades that allow you to create a smoky eye, and highlight your brow bone or tear duct.   You can even use it to highlight your cheekbone.   I would not recommend the latter for brown girls since the lighter shade looks a bit silver-ish.

I’ve never really been a fan of glitter, and the BA Star Smoky Eyeshadow palette didn’t change that view.  The glitter was hard to remove.  I still have some floating around somewhere.

Would I recommend?

I would recommend this affordable cosmetic line to my teenage niece, who coincidentally is a twirler.  She’s just getting into makeup, and this is the perfect type of makeup for her to “play” in as she catches her bearings.
