Good luck!

Besides using MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, I have very little experience with mineral foundations & products.  I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to try a selection of Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics (thanks Melissa!), and to be honest with you, they have some great stuff!

The products that I tested for my review include: the Mineral Cosmetics Basics Kit in Dark (see description below), the lunar dust in Dusk, and their lip gloss in Coy.  (CLICK HERE to see the video)

I started with my Makeup For Ever All Mat primer.  YB Cosmetics does have a mineral primer; however, I do not have it, so I had to make do with what I had available.  I ended up mixing the Hazelnut & Coffee mineral foundations together in order to obtain the perfect match for my skintone.

I used the Kabuki Blending Brush to buff the foundation into my skin; it blended so well, it practically disappeared into my skin!  This is what a foundation should do; you shouldn’t see any lines.  This foundation provided me with great coverage as well without using a concealer.  I like that you can also build the up the coverage to your needs, and it doesn’t look cakey/powdery.  Another thing I loved about this product is how it felt.  You don’t feel like you’re wearing anything, and my skin felt as soft as a baby’s bottom.

This is what Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics had to say about their foundation:

” This incredibly unique silky powder is a foundation, concealer and powder all in one! It offers exceptional, high performance coverage, is easy to use and is non-comedogenic. The mineral foundation glides on all skin types beautifully to give natural, healthy coverage and a translucent glow. Available in our sleek, exclusively designed container with controlled distribution. With a tap of a finger, no more mess, no more waste …it is the hottest trend in makeup on the market today!”

After the foundation was applied, I applied Lunar Dust in Dusk as a highlighter using my fan brush.  Then, I applied YB Cosmetics’ Mineral Blush in Cabernet.  Both products mixed together gave me a nice, warm, healthy, summer, bronzy glow that I loved.  I actually said to myself while looking in the mirror, ‘Wow, I like this. I really like this.’  The blush & dust blend seamlessly with the foundation.

I love lip gloss.  I actually wear it more than lipstick. I hate when glosses are too sticky or have a bad taste. Youngblood’s gloss doesn’t feel sticky, and doesn’t have a horrid smell or taste.  My only complaint is that it doesn’t last as long as my other glosses.

FTC Disclosure:   The product(s) reviewed was sent to me by a company for free.  I was not paid for this review, nor am I affiliated with this company in any way, shape or form.  This is my honest opinion/review.

Avon Haul (Picture Heavy)

I’ve been meaning to do this post for a while now. I purchased these products a while ago from my Mom who is an Avon Representative.

I’ve used their FootWorks Products many times before for my at home pedicures (see this post).  Avaon had a promotion where you got 2 Overnight Lavendar Foot Creams, 1 Foot Mask, 1 Lavendar Foot Soak, and a pumice stone.  I can’t remember the price, but it was a good deal.

These are cosmetics I purchased from them.

The eyshadows are not too pigmented.  You definitely need to use a base, and pack on the shadows to see the color. (Top Row: No base; Middle Row: UDPP; Bottom Row: NYX E/S Base in White)

Mascara’s, Lip pencils, Glazewear Etc…

Lip Pencils

Eye Pencils

Glazewears $1.99 Each

I will swatch the products I purchased in a later post.

Do you use Avon Products?

If so, which ones? How do you like them?

Steppin’ Hot! + MAC’s #130 Brush

I purchased these shoes a few years back in October during Miami Carnival in 2007.  They were on-sale for $19. i think the original price was $129? Anyway, it’s a funny story because I forbidden to spend. I put myself on a strict budget at the time.  My friend made me buy them because they were cute & on-sale for $19!  I made the clerk throw the box out, and stuffed the shoes in my large bag, & hid the shoes once i got back to my room ..

These sandals are very comfy too! I can walk in them all day.  Great shoe to bring a pop of color to any outfit.

Today, you can check out my blog post about the uses MAC’s #130 Duo Fibre Brush, which was re-released with the To The Beach Collection over at Opal Fusion Mag (CLICK HERE).
