Sponsored Post: Getting Back Into The Game for Spring #SpringFun

Finally, spring is here!  It’s time to shed those chunky, cozy sweaters, stop hibernating and head out to meet your next best fling!  Before you head out you must make sure you are looking the part to meet the potential guy who may steal your heart.

According to HowAboutWe.com’s “5 Easy Tips To Successfully Land A Date This Spring”, Ladies, Ask Guys Out:

“Men and women are asking one another out at equal rates and in fact, ladies are at a slight advantage. Dates proposed by women get an average of 5.8 responses each, while men get about 5.5.”

Before you ask that lucky man (or men) out, & to ensure you lock down that date, fmake sure you’re “on-point” with these tips:

Keep the makeup light

Use a tinted moisturizer, blush/bronzer, mascara, and a fun, flirty lip color.

FYI: Orange, Fuchsia & Hot Pink lips are “on” for spring.  Don’t like gloss or lipstick? Try a tint.

What to have with you at all times

A compact/mirror, blotting paper or powder, and your favorite lippie  for touch-ups.

You should also carry some breath strips, altoids or gum, and a small bottle of perfume to re-fresh during the date.  Also, when wearing perfume, you don’t want to put too much to the point you smell like a perfume factory; this could really impact how long he wants to stay near you.  I know you want to smell good, but when you apply too much, the scent becomes overwhelming, and sometimes nauseating.

-Remember a good attitude, personality, open-mind & a smile!

Note: It’s okay to add a few extra touches to enhance yourself; however, you should not go for a complete opposite look of how you normally look.  It’s kind of like false advertisement.  Nothing is more attractive than a woman who is comfortable in her own skin!

Now that you have the look down,  make sure the date is set and solid at HowAboutWe.Com!

2-Part Dates Have the Most Success: 60% of the most responded to dates are two-fold: a short, active first part followed by a more intimate second location.  Example: “How about we practice our slices at the driving range then get some slices at my favorite brick-oven pizza joint – it’s just a few blocks away.

Review: Bliss Poetic Waxing Kit – Underarm

I reviewed this wax kit previously (Review: Bliss Poetic Microwaveable Waxing Kit) after using it to wax my eyebrows.  In order to give you another perspective on how it works on different areas of the body, I used the Bliss Poetic Microwaveable Waxing Kit on my sister’s underarms over a week ago, on April 12, 2o11 (she begged me to do it).  It’s now 11 days later and her underarms are still smooth and hair-free.

As you can see from the picture above, her hair was very coarse, short, and curly.  It looked like a tough job; however, it was fast and simple, and most of all, PAIN FREE.  She kept asking if I did it yet (pulled the wax off) when I had already done it; she never felt me pull it off.  She explained she liked this wax much better than any of the others I’ve tested on her.  It didn’t leave her skin raw or irritated like the others as well.

The hair came off easily without breaking.  See picture below. (Sorry if it grosses you out!)

Like I said in my last review of this wax, I would definitely recommend it, again!

Review: WEN Pomegranate Cleansing Conditioner on Relaxed Hair

I received stylist Chaz Dean’s WEN Pomegranate Cleansing Conditioner ($28 for 16 oz bottle) at the QVC Beauty Breakfast.  I have never tried any of the WEN products before, except for what was tested on me at the event (see post); however,  I did hear great things about the product from a co-worker (untreated curly hair).  I was excited to go home with this product to finally try.

Description:

What is it: A revolutionary step toward beautiful, healthy, shiny hair. This cleansing conditioner replaces shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler, leave-in conditioner, and even shaving cream.

Who is it for: All hair types.

Why is it different: This pomegranate cleansing conditioner is formulated to add moisture without weighing hair down. It effectively cleanses and hydrates hair without stripping or robbing it of its natural nutrients and oils.

WEN boasts that their cleansing conditioner is sulfate free – you know,  the stuff that makes your shampoo suds up. Sulfates also strip your hair of natural oils.  This was my very first time using a product like this, and initially, I was impressed.

I loved how my scalp and hair felt clean.  There was a cool, tingly feeling to my scalp after using the product.  I was surprised to see and feel how clean my hair was without all of the suds.  After going through the cleansing process as the directions instructed, I blow-dried my hair and my hair was left feeling soft, light, bouncy and fuller.  Fast forward to three to four days in, and that feeling was gone!  My hair felt straw-like and stiff, which is why I wasn’t completely impressed.

As far as the scent of this product, to me it smelled ‘yummy,’ but not a true pomegranate scent, and wasn’t too over-powering.  The scent stayed in my hair for at least the 1st two days then it was gone, which doesn’t bother me.

It’s supposed to be for all hair types, but it didn’t work too well for my relaxed hair;  therefore, I wouldn’t recommend this product if your hair is relaxed like mine.  WEN does recommend their Fig WEN products for African American hair, maybe I need to try that and/or the replenishing treatment for better reslts.

Have you tried WEN’s Cleansing Conditioner?

What did you think?

Disclaimer: I attended an exclusive event where these products were provided.  I was not paid or compensated in anyway to do this post.  This is my honest review/opinion.
