Hair Help: The Long & Short of it

Lately, I’ve been struggling with what I should do about y hair.  I cut it short April 26, 2008, and I LOVED it.  After I had my daughter this past March I decided to grow it out (see recent picture below).  Having it longer has definitely made my mornings easier since I just un-wrap it, and go. With the short hair cut, I’d have to worry about if a curl went flat, how to sleep so I don’t mess it up, getting it done weekly etc.  I loved it, but, it was high maintenance.  With a baby, it’s too much work for me right now.  Plus, winter is coming and I’d like to have something on my head this year to keep it warm, especially since I hate hats.

During my last hair appointment, which was two weeks ago, my hair stylist suggested I cut it again to get a more edgy look.  I agreed.  Now, I am like uggh do I really want to now? My issue is, my hair shed a TON after having my daughter.  My edges are somewhat non-existent; therefore, I’d have to go really short at the sides or make sure the cut leaves enough hair to cover it up.  I know I need something to make me look my age, and not a frumpy mom.  Maybe I can let it grow out more into a bob, and add some color for the Fall & Winter, and in the Spring/Summer, cut it short? My appointment is Saturday, and I STILL don’t know what to do.

This is where you come in!

New Purchase: Look what came in the mail… early

Since purple is my favorite color.  I ordered the Clarisonic Mia in Lavender from Amazon for $104.  I used a $100 amazon gift card my job had given me.  I’ve wanted one of these jammies for the longest time, but, I just couldn’t justify spending that amount of money on something like that no matter how amazing it sounded.  It’s been on my birthday and christmas lists, but, I never received it. I was happy to have “free” money to use on it, and not feel too bad about the purchase.

I was supposed to receive my clarisonic on Friday, October 7th, but, it came today! .:yippee:.  I’m hoping I am able to try it out this evening.

Review: CND Shellac Manicure Hot Pop Pink!

On September 8, 2011 I went to Jean Leon Salon (see review HERE)to get my CND Shellac Mani in Hot Pop Pink.  I really loved the color of the gel, and was hoping it lasted as long as it promised – 2 weeks.  It’s been nearly 3 weeks (1 day under 3 weeks) and besides new growth and slight lifting on my thumb nail, the manicure lasted through constant hand washing, dish washing, cleaning and more.

I finally ended up getting the gel soaked off on Thursday, September 29, 2011. I went to Polish Bar Brooklyn (Clinton Hill location) to get a Brown Sugar Pedicure and Mani.  I used a lifebooker.com coupon that my friend Shannon purchased for me for my birthday. I really wish I were able to use the coupon to get a gel mani again.  It’s only been three days, and my nails look like crap!

I will definitely get a gel manicure again because it makes life so much easier, especially with a baby.  The only downside to having one is that you’re “Stuck” with one color for 2 weeks.
