What to bring on a summer beach vacation?

This weekend I’m going on my biennial family vacation, which is a cruise.  This year, we are cruising the Carnival Dream leaving from Orlando, and afterward we are staying in Orlando for a few days.  The stops on this particular cruise are Cozumel, Mx; Belize; Isla Roatan; Honduras; and Costa Maya, Mx.  My plan is to beach it the entire trip!

This is what I am bringing with me for this summer beach vacation:

Protect your skin while on the beach with Kiss My Face Sport Clear Spray SPF 50 8 fl oz $15.40

Carol’s Daughter Gelee De Soleil  with SPF 15 – $15 4.0 fl oz

I bring this with me during every beach vacation.  I love the bronzy glow I get after using it.  It smells like a pina colada, which is a plus!

Keep the bronze effect going glowing!

First, even out your skin with a tinted moisturizer like OCC’s Moisture Tint (I have Y5, which is the deepest yellow-tone shade) It has no SPF, so be sure to use a light SPF prior to application; blot then apply the moisture tint.

I use my YSL Touche Eclat to highlight my brow bone, and conceal under my eyes.

I use my bdellium Tools #957 Precision Cheek Blush to apply my MAC Wonder Woman Golden Lariat MSF

I love my MAC Wonder Woman Golden Lariat compact.  It has everything you need to stay cute and bronzy during your summer beach vacation; you have your blush, bronzer and highlighter all-in-one!

Give a golden Kiss using Kevyn Aucoin’s The Elegant Lip Gloss in Vesuvian Caramel $27 at Barneys.com

Waterproof brows using Make Up For Ever’s Waterproof Brow Corrector (for reference: I mix #2 & #3)

Waterproof your lashes!  No waterproof mascara? No Problem! Just bring Anastasia of Beverly Hills Lash Genius

Updates: Find me on @Instagram !!! FABulously Chic Pictures

Hi Everyone!!!

I apologize for being MIA the past week.  As mentioned previously, I had an event with my friend and fellow blogger Janique of Her Goody Bag.  The event, FABulously Chic: A Summer Soiree  was a success.  We had a good turnout, especially since it was our first.  I posted pictures on my facebook page (see here).  We have a lot planned.  We cannot wait to share our ideas with everyone!

I crossed over from my blackberry and got an iPhone.  How did I ever go without this gadget?  It is the best thing that has ever happened to me.  It has made it easier for me to post FOTD’s and EOTD’s, products etc on Instagram (Makeup by Kim Porter).  My instagram posts go to my twitter account (@MakeupKimPorter), so if you don’t have instagram you can follow me on twitter to see everything.

P.S.

I will be on vacation from August 3-August 14th Hopefully I will get in some posts while on vacation showing some makeup looks, outfits, and products I’m using throughout my trip.  This is, of course only if AT&T doesn’t kill me with charges.

THANK YOU!!!!

Shobha to open 4th location: Shobha Financial District

One of the best things I’ve heard all week is finding out Shobha, my favorite, most bragged about waxing place is opening a 4th location late this summer.  Shobha Financial District, is nestled in the heart of the Financial District between Rector and Morris Streets at 65 Broadway (formerly the American Express Building). I am excited for the opening of this location since it is in a more convenient location, as far as commuting from Brooklyn.  I only hope they continue to expand further Downtown, and into Brooklyn (Brooklyn Heights, Clinton Hill, Fort Green).

“The location just made sense.  With our growing clientele, we wanted to make our services more accessible for those downtown who find it hard to sneak away from their hectic days at the office,” says Shobha Tummala, Founder and CEO, regarding the expansion.

Shobha Financial District will offer its signature treatments, including threading, sugaring and waxing, as well as an assortment of hand-picked retail products from its own line and other Shobha-approved brands.  If you are new to waxing or threading, this is the place I always recommend first.  Be sure to try out Shobha.  Let them know Kim Porter sent you!
