Review: Belle Butters has your Pumpkin Pie [Butter] for Thanksgiving!

I’m like totally obsessed with everything Pumpkin Pie Spice related.  Seriously, I think I’ve tried almost every kind of pumpkin pie spice latte, chai tea, donut – you name it, I’ve probably tried it or have wanted it.  Last year, when I was on the Belle Butters website about to purchase my Neutralizing Butter for Oily Skin, I came across their Pumpkin Pie Butter.  I got a small jar (4 oz), which I regretted immediately since it ran out so quickly (I’m heavy-handed with body products).  Since it is a seasonal butter, I was smart about my purchase this Fall and jumped on the 16 oz, which is the largest size.  So far, with using it daily, I haven’t nearly made a dent in it.

The Pumpkin Pie Butter unrefined shea butter and avocado butters, optiphen(preservative). And for extra softness and moisture, a bit of calendula oil and jojoba oil were added (source).

So far, I’ve tried three of Tasha’s butters. I can say all of them are whipped to fluffy perfection.   The texture of this butter is the same as the ones I’ve tried, and I have no issues with it.  The Pumpkin Pie Butter blends into the skin easily, and leaves me smelling like a freshly baked pumkin pie (or ginger cookie if my husband were to tell it) all day.  The scent is definitely not overwhelming.  I love that it just makes me feel warm and happy!  Oh, and it leaves my skin feeling super soft, especially when used right out of the shower.

I also purchased a small jar of the Unyevu butter.  I use this one on my daughter’s hair and on my hands. It works wonders.  The scent wasn’t what I thought it would be, but, it does smell nice and light.  I think I expected more of a spicy ginger… oh well.

I would definitely recommend checking out Belle Butter’s there’s something for everyone! Plus, Tasha is just a sweety!

Have you experienced Belle Butters? If so, what are your favorites?

Review: Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner “Nude” & “Fashionista” (swatches)

The Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner is a family of four palettes (Smoky Eyes, Nude Eyes, Fashionista Eyes, and Casual Eyes) created for “ANY eye color” that allows an individual to create three looks, from natural to playful to dramatic.  Each uniquely designed, eye appealing palette comes with 9 shimmer shades that can be used dry for a more soft and subtle look, or wet for a more intense and dramatic effect.   The palettes are small, about 4″ length and 2″ wide, which make them convenient enough to tote around in your purse.

My Thoughts:

This is my first time using a Physician’s Formula eyeshadow product, needless to say, I was excited to try them out.  At first glance, the shades in each Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips palette are gorgeous, especially the lime color in the “Fashionista” palette; however, once swatched the color pay-off leaves much to desire.

It takes a lot of work to get a good color pay-off, especially when using the enclosed applicator.  I had better results with color intensity when using my coastal scents C210 Small Chisel Fluff brush, and the colors blended out easily.  If you’re not into working hard to achieve a certain eye makeup look, or you just don’t have the time, then these are not for you.  I can attest to the fact that I had to sit and pack-on the eyeshadow in order for the color to pop how I am used to.  For the Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips I would highly suggest using a primer, like the Urban Decay Primer Potion or the more affordable option from Ruby Kisses, “Eyeshadow Magic Primer”, as well as an eyeshadow base like “Milk” Jumbo Eye pencil from NYX.

As far as the texture goes, Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips aren’t powdery; however, there are some eyeshadows in the palette that are fallout city! That isn’t a real big deal for me since I am ‘team eyeshadow first’; therefore, I am not worried about ruining the makeup I’ve already applied.  But, using the eyeshadows wet (wetting your brush) should relieve this issue.

Below is a look I created. This is what it looked like after 10 hours with using a primer and base.  There is some creasing, but, it isn’t too bad! The colors still look nice and vibrant.

Would I recommend?

The Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips palettes are affordable; you get 9 eyeshadow shades for about $11 at your local drugstore like CVS.  I would recommend it to those who love shimmer, and don’t mind working [hard] to achieve a particular eye makeup look.  If you are like me, and very rarely have time on your hands then this isn’t for you.  I would suggest this product for people new to makeup and are in the experimental phase.

Stocking Stuffer Idea: INGLOT Launches Double Sparkle Rainbow Eyeshadows

INGLOT, a favorite brand of mine, is well-known for their Freedom system.  The Freedom System is a unique method of arranging eye shadows, blushes, pressed powders, lipsticks, concealers and brow products in special magnetic cases, which can be combined freely.  The Freedom System collection is available in a variety of sizes from a selection of one product up to a palette of 40 eye shadows.

Just in time for the holidays, INGLOT cosmetics is slated to release NEW Double Sparkle Rainbow Eyeshadows on November 17, 2012 to add to your freedom system collection.  The Double Sparkle Rainbow Eyeshadows will be available in 10 different shades and provides the coverage of a matte eyeshadow but leaves an element of sparkle to your eyes.  Each colour boasts three shades in one, which can be blended together or applied separately giving you a limitless variety of colour options and looks!  If you’re into frosty or pearl, these eyeshadows are for you.  The double sparkle leaves intense colour saturation and reflective particles that won’t accentuate the fine lines of mature skin.

At $8 each, the Double Sparkle Rainbow Eyeshadows sound like the perfect gift idea either as a stocking stuffer or by filling up a freedom system palette with a few.   It is surely a gift any makeup lover would like.

What do you think about the Double Sparkle Rainbow Eyeshadows?

Will you purchase any of them?
