Review: Stay Fresh All Day Anywhere You Go with FDS Personals Perfectly Portable Cleansing Cloths

This review of the FDS Perfectly Portable Cleansing Cloths is powered by BrandBacker in which product was provided for review purposes only; however, all opinions are my own and are 100% honest.

FDS Perfectly Portable Cleansing Cloths

The FDS® brand is an old-school feminine hygiene brand that’s been around since my mom was a teenager; we’re going back as far as 1966!  FDS® – “Feminine, Discreet, Sensual” has been a trusted personal feminine care brand ever since through a range of products like feminine deodorant sprays and washes, and  most recently the FDS Personals Perfectly Portable Cleansing Cloths.

What are the FDS Personals Perfectly Portable Cleansing Cloths?

FDS Perfectly Portable Cleansing Cloths Makeup by Kim Porter

My Thoughts:

I know, the FDS Perfectly Portable Cleansing Cloths are not makeup removal wipes, however, they do get rid of something just as important – body odor.  Personal hygiene, especially when you are a female is extremely important.  What is the point of looking beautiful and not smelling as beautiful as you look? None! FDS has made is simple to stay cute, clean, fresh and refreshed discreetly and on the go.

If you’re a mom like me, you’ve probably used your child’s baby wipes a few times (or more), but, the FDS Perfectly Portable Cleansing Cloths aren’t the same! They’re not as wet, which means you don’t have to wait for it to dry, and it picks up more, thus, leaving you with a ‘just cleaned’ feeling.  The wipes are perfect for that “that time of the month” when you need the extra cleaning, and fresh feeling.  I think the wipes work best when used after regular toilet paper since it will keep you from using more than one FDS Perfectly Portable Cleansing Cloth, which will, in the end, save you money.

The wipes have a nice, light fresh scent that isn’t overwhelming and is 100% hypo-allergenic so no worries about having a reaction down there.  Best of all, the FDS Perfectly Portable Cleansing Cloths are paraben, sulfate, and alcohol free.  No alcohol means you don’t have to worry about it drying out your sensitive area in the southern region and no burning sensation.

The wipes are convenient as they are packed in a fashionably discreet package containing 10 cloths each.  No one would know if you’re carrying personal hygiene wipes or facial cleansing cloths.  Since there are 3 packets in each package – it’s cute and resembles a purse- you can carry one in your purse or clutch, leave another at home, and have another at work.

The FDS Perfectly Portable Cleansing Cloths cost between $4.99 – $5.99 on Walmart.com or at select Walmart locations.

Are Personal Cleansing Cloths a Must-have for you?

Nail It: Add Holiday Flare with SinfulColors Holiday Tinsel Collection {Swatches}

SinfulColors, an affordable nail polish brand has provided me with samples of the SinfulColors Holiday Tinsel Collection for review purposes only.

SinfulColors is known for their on-trend, vivid shades that come in different formulas from cream, glitter, shimmer and matte.  Due to SinfulColors affordability ($1.99/bottle) and bold colors, they were actually one of the first drugstore brand polishes I tried. When offered the opportunity to try shades from the SinfulColors Holiday Tinsel Collection, I jumped on it.

SinfulColors Holiday Tinsel Collection

The SinfulColors Holiday Tinsel Collection features six sparkling or “glittery” – as my two year old stated – holiday-inspired nail polish shades that provides the look and feel of holiday tinsel.

Sinful Colors Holiday Tinsel Collection

SINFULCOLORS HOLIDAY TINSEL Collection

Silver Rainbows – Slivers of Silver; Cold As Ice – Winter White; Spiked Ice – Black Dazzle; Tinsel Town – Blue Sparkle; Pink Icicles – Confetti Concoction; Gold Tinsel – Gift of Gold

My thoughts:

I was provided three shades from the SinfulColors Holiday Tinsel Collection: Spiked Ice, Pink Icicles, and Gold Tinsel.  The formula of the polishes in the SinfulColors Holiday Tinsel Collection is a clear base similar to that of a clear topcoat, except it has mini tinsel-like glitter strips, which provides texture to nails.

As with most textured polishes, especially glitter, these are hard to get off.  Just use a cotton pad soaked with polish remover and let it sit onto of the nail for a little bit, and then rub off.  Also,  be sure to maneuver the tinsel around with the brush to ensure that there aren’t any strays close to the tip of the nail because if that does happen, you will find that the tinsel will scratch your skin.

Spiked Ice

SinfulColors Holiday Tinsel Spiked Ice

Although Spiked Ice doesn’t have the sparkly, glittery appeal of holiday tinsel like the other polishes in this collection, it still adds a nice textured effect to nails.I applied Spiked Ice over grey polish, which created a sexy, evening nail that reminded me of a cute little black dress. This combination I believe would be perfect to wear out for a New Years Eve celebration.

Pink Icicles over a grey nail polish.  It also looks great over green nail polish for a festive look.

Gold Tinsel looks great over white, red, and green polishes.

Price:  The SinfulColors Holiday Tinsel Collection costs $1.99 exclusively at Walgreens stores for Holiday 2013.

SinfulColors Sheer Lustre Glitter Topcoats

SINFULCOLORS LUSTRE TOP COAT Collection

SinfulColors also released Sheer Lustre Glitter Topcoats for the Holiday 2013 season. This collection features  six sheer glitter shades which were designed to be worn over any SinfulColors nail polish for added bling, glitz and glam.

The six SinfulColors Sheer Lustre Glitter Topcoats shades are: 24 Karat – Gold gilt; Top Me Off – Prismatic Frills; Sapphired Up- Turquoise glitz; Diamonds are Forever – Silver Confetti; Girls Best Friend – Pink baubles; and Glittery in Pink – Psychedelic Blush.

24 Karat is beautiful for a hint of gold glitter.

Now You Can Get an [Virtual] Makeover on this site!

Makeover app Makeup by Kim Porter

I’m a makeup artist, and I often provide makeovers (or make unders) to clients.  There are times when I’m just not available to meet with clients in-person, so I am excited to share with you the first interactive makeover app now available here on the Makeup by Kim Porter website by Makeover Solutions.

The makeover app allows you try on everything from your favorite celebrity hairstyles, to a red carpet beauty look.  You can also try on blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and even foundation and lip colors. Cool, right?

You’re probably wondering just how does this makeover app work?  Well, it’s pretty simple, you can either use one of the pre-loaded models available in the app or you can upload a photo of yourself.  The 1-click look option allows you to achieve the entire look of a celebrity from their hair to their makeup.   If you’ve ever wondered what Rihanna’s pixie cut would look like on you, try it out using this makeover app.

I love that this makeover app allows you to try-on different products without actually going to a store.  Have you ever swatched 5 or more [pigmented] lipsticks in a row?  Raw lip city! With this app, you don’t have to worry about that.

This makeover app allows you to stay up-to-date with current beauty and hair trends without the hassle of going out to purchase products that just may not have worked for you.  Imagine trying out the ombre hair trend, only to find you look ridiculous?  Just use this makeover app to avoid the embarrassment of a bad hair day or three, and avoid damaging you hair and skin by using the wrong products or too much product.

To try out the app, just click on “Get a Makeover” located in the top navigation bar of this site, and have fun!  Go ahead, try that bold lip or find your perfect nude lipstick.
