Saturday, February 5, 2011 was my surprise baby shower. Since we were supposedly taking my mom out to dinner for her birthday, which was the same day, I decided to make myself look a little presentable; I wasn’t feeling well, and needed to hide the sickly look. Good thing I did that because I would have looked a hot mess at my shower!
Sorry there are no up-close pictures. I can re-create the look any time if you want me to though since it’s one of my go-to neutral looks.

This is a question I get asked often. I do have some MAC brushes, however, the majority of my brushes are Sigma Makeup Brushes. When I first began building my kit these were recommended to me based on the quality (very similar to MAC), and the affordability of them.
Here’s my very first review on them: Sigma Makeup Brush Review
I also have their Premium Brush Kit
Synthetic Face Kit ($42) This is a set that I am waiting to try. I wonder how it compares to MAC 130 brush, which I use to flawlessly apply my foundation, and other liquid/cream products.
The brushes in this collection feature exclusive Sigmax filament, specially designed to apply powder and liquid products without absorption into the fibers. The shape, density and height of the filaments were carefully engineered to perfectly buff products onto the skin, resulting in a high definition effect.
F82 – Round Top Kabuki
The F82 Round Top Kabuki brush simplifies precise makeup application under the eyes and around the nose. This brush is also perfect for achieving flawless coverage using liquid and powder products. Synthetic Sigmax HD filament.
F80 – Flat Top Kabuki
The F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush is perfect for applying and blending liquid, cream, and powder products onto the skin. The flat surface allows perfect buffing with flawless results. Synthetic Sigmax HD filament.
F84 – Angled Top Kabuki
The F84 Angled Top Kabuki brush is the perfect brush for precise, yet blended application of products on the cheeks. It seamlessly applies cream, powder and liquid products. Synthetic Sigmax HD filament.

This evening I came home to a package from MAC. My husband didn’t tell me it came, I just found it on the bed. Shame on him!
Anyway, I was amazed to see how big the Mineralize Skinfinish was. Like it’s exceptionally larger and heavier than the other MSF’s. I knew the products in this collection were supposed to be a bit larger, but I was not expecting this. I guess that’s why it’s priced so high ($35). The packaging seems much more sturdy than the original MSF. I always had trouble with the clear top popping out on me. With this one you won’t have that since it’s made more like a compact. I think it would be cute if it had a little mirror inside though.
