Review: Artistry Time Defiance Skincare line

Amway Global/Quixtar.  They have a number of products ranging from health/beauty, jewelry, gift cards… the whole shebang!   Their skincare line, Artistry Time Defiance, boasts to be able  to “stop aging where it starts.” According to the website, this is a “premier skin care line” that provides “leading edge technology to repair and prevent the signs of premature aging.”

Some people are familiar with

I’ve used Artistry Essentials Eye & Lip Makeup Remover, which works excellently.  This prompted me to try one of their cleansers (They actually have seven different cleansers.) I tried their Time Defiance Cleansing Treatment and Time Defiance Cleansing Toner.  I figured it would be okay for my skin since my boyfriend uses it without a problem, and it says it’s “Good for all skin types.” Unfortunately it didn’t work out that way for me.  After three days of use, my face began to break out  in small, fine bumps.  .:sad face:. This is the reason why I haven’t posted any FOTD’s in the past few days.  I don’t want to apply any makeup until this is completely cleared up.

Product Description:
Luxurious foaming paste containing amino acid surfactants that gently and effectively removes clogging dirt and excess oil
Moisturizes
Contains HLM+ that works naturally with your skin to help rebalance moisture
Formulated with Chamomile and Licorice Root Extract that helps soothe the skin

Do I recommend?
What doesn’t work for me, may work for you.  If you have sensitive skin, I’d recommend you stay away from these products.

Pro’s:
Non-drying
Moisturizing

Cons:
Not good for sensitive skin; It broke me out
Scent – it smells like fabric softener… something with perfume.  This is probably the cause of the breakout.  It would probably work better if it was unscented.

Price: If you are on a budget these products are not for you.  Cleanser is $31 & Toner is $32.50.

Until I find something else that works well with my skin, I am going to stick with my regular skin care regimen.

FTC Discloser: Products mentioned in this post were purchased by me and I am in no way affiliated with any brands or companies mentioned.

Review: E.L.F. Cosmetics Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths

Product Description: Gently and easily cleans skin to remove all traces of makeup and dirt, even waterproof mascara. Great for on-the-go travel. Gentle cloths are soft and soothing for even the most sensitive skin. Infused with Aloe Vera Extract for deep hydration and moisture.

My thoughts:

The E.L.F. Cosmetics Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths are a decent product for the price. You get what you pay for, especially good for removing face makeup (light foundation, powder, blush, eye shadow). Since it isn’t oil-based, it doesn’t do the best job in taking off waterproof mascara’s or liner.  That’s not to say that they don’t work – it just takes some extra effort, more product and time to really remove the more difficult products. You may go through a lot of the E.L.F. Cosmetics Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths, but since it’s so cheap it shouldn’t be an issue.

I didn’t like…

…the heavy residue feeling it left after using them.  So don’t think you can just get away with using the wipes without washing your face afterward.
I bought these because I thought I would be able to skip washing the makeup off on the nights I was coming home late from being out all night, and feeling super lazy. .:WOMP WOMP:. Aaaaaaand they were cheap. My favorite drugstore makeup remover wipe, hands-down is the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes ($6.99).  If you have money to splurge, try Dermalogica’s PreCleanse.
Would I buy the E.L.F. Cosmetics Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths again? Probably not. I’ll use what I have now since I bought two packs. After those are done. I’m done with it. I’d rather have a product that does the job well all in one shot. Plus I do not like the sticky residue the E.L.F. Cosmetics Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths leave after using them.
Quantity: 20 Pre-moistened cloths included.
Price: $3.00
