Review: Veet Spray-on Hair Removal Cream works in just 3 minutes

I received, for free, this 5.1 oz can of Veet Spray-On Hair Removal Cream for dry skin at last months Shecky’s Girl’s Night Out event I went to.

Product Description:

New Veet Spray-on Hair Removal Cream is a great innovation in skin care.

Developed for women who desire easier depilation – you just apply it fast and simply directly from spray onto the required areas, with no need of spreading. Then the cream is removed in the usual way to result in a velvety look and smooth skin.

There are three(3) different formulas: Dry Skin, Sensitive, and Supreme Essence

Areas used for: Legs, bikini, underarm.

Working Time: 3-5 Minutes (6 minutes Maximum)

Price: $5.99 (Walgreen’s)

My thoughts:

I’ve used this product a few times (legs only) since I got it.  It works well although, I will probably never buy it again.  I’ve never been into depilatory creams specifically because of the scent.  This one has that familiar scent.

Pros: Works as stated. My legs are smooth, and soft.  It works in a short amount of time.  It definitely beats shaving when you don’t have time to shave.  Results last nearly 2 weeks.

Cons: Scent.  It has that horrible scent that any hair removal cream has. It kind of reminds me of a relaxer. Another thing I didn’t like about it was that it burned my skin a little. I don’t have any physical burn marks, but there was a burning sensation when I used it for the 3 minutes.  I didn’t dare go over that, especially since I have a very sparse amount of hair on my legs, so it wouldn’t make sense anyway.  One last thing I didn’t like was the distribution of the product while being sprayed – it was so uneven.  You can see that in the above picture.

These are the results

Review: Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrè (24-Hour Miracle Cream)

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrè (24-Hour Miracle Cream) is a makeup artist staple (David Tibolla, Jon Hennessey, Vincent Oquendo Etc.), that has been around for years!  It’s an all-in-one moisturizer and primer, and can also be used to thin out heavy foundations to create a tinted moisturizer.  Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrè uses go beyond many moisturizers;  Men and women can use it as an after-shave balm to reduce irritation & bumps!  And  it removes makeup as well.

If you travel a lot like I do, Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrè is perfect to bring with you on those skin dehydrating flights, and since it’s an all-in-one miracel cream, it’s less stuff you have to carry with you on your trips!

This is a great moisturizer for people with normal to dry skin.  It’s non-oily, but still has the moisture thirsty skin needs.  It works best when worked into the skin, blotting the excess off with a two-ply tissue.  I love this cream because it also isn’t heavy like other moisturizers I’ve used.   It has a nice texture – its not a thick cream but its not a runny lotion either, so your skinw on’t feel like it’s being weighed down by product.

Another great thing about this cream is its scent.  The scent is very light (so light it’s almost not there), and not over powering enough to irritate you.  Even though I use MAC’s Oil Control Lotion, I do not like the scent at all! It makes me a little queasy.

Price: $14- $22

Size: 75 ml (2.6 fl. oz.)  30 ml (1.0 fl. oz.)

I purchased a set of 3 for $45 at The Makeup Show New York.  If you are attending IMAT’s in LA, be sure to pick up a tube or three for yourself and your makeup kit. I promise you that you will not regret it.

Good luck!

Besides using MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, I have very little experience with mineral foundations & products.  I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to try a selection of Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics (thanks Melissa!), and to be honest with you, they have some great stuff!

The products that I tested for my review include: the Mineral Cosmetics Basics Kit in Dark (see description below), the lunar dust in Dusk, and their lip gloss in Coy.  (CLICK HERE to see the video)

I started with my Makeup For Ever All Mat primer.  YB Cosmetics does have a mineral primer; however, I do not have it, so I had to make do with what I had available.  I ended up mixing the Hazelnut & Coffee mineral foundations together in order to obtain the perfect match for my skintone.

I used the Kabuki Blending Brush to buff the foundation into my skin; it blended so well, it practically disappeared into my skin!  This is what a foundation should do; you shouldn’t see any lines.  This foundation provided me with great coverage as well without using a concealer.  I like that you can also build the up the coverage to your needs, and it doesn’t look cakey/powdery.  Another thing I loved about this product is how it felt.  You don’t feel like you’re wearing anything, and my skin felt as soft as a baby’s bottom.

This is what Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics had to say about their foundation:

” This incredibly unique silky powder is a foundation, concealer and powder all in one! It offers exceptional, high performance coverage, is easy to use and is non-comedogenic. The mineral foundation glides on all skin types beautifully to give natural, healthy coverage and a translucent glow. Available in our sleek, exclusively designed container with controlled distribution. With a tap of a finger, no more mess, no more waste …it is the hottest trend in makeup on the market today!”

After the foundation was applied, I applied Lunar Dust in Dusk as a highlighter using my fan brush.  Then, I applied YB Cosmetics’ Mineral Blush in Cabernet.  Both products mixed together gave me a nice, warm, healthy, summer, bronzy glow that I loved.  I actually said to myself while looking in the mirror, ‘Wow, I like this. I really like this.’  The blush & dust blend seamlessly with the foundation.

I love lip gloss.  I actually wear it more than lipstick. I hate when glosses are too sticky or have a bad taste. Youngblood’s gloss doesn’t feel sticky, and doesn’t have a horrid smell or taste.  My only complaint is that it doesn’t last as long as my other glosses.
