Fragrance Friday: Odin New York 09 Posala – The Perfect Winter Fragrance

Odin New York 09 Posala _bottle
AFFILIATE LINKSI BOUGHT THIS | AFFILIATE LINKS

I have a weakness for a good fragrance, and for some reason, my fragrance choices always err on the expensive side like the newest addition to my fragrance collection: Odin New York 09 Posala.  Released over two years ago, I must admit, the niche fragrance line was not on my radar. Thankfully, my husband and I both share the same affinity for luxury fragrances, and he also has my scent preference down pact. He made an excellent choice in  picking up for me Odin New York 09 Posala.

Posala, which means “Farewell to spring flowers” in Native American describes this fragrance perfectly.  Although I began wearing the Odin New York 09 Posala at the start of winter, I can see smell how it makes for the perfect transitional scent from late spring into fall. Posala has top notes of pear blossom and peach, that transform into a warmer, spicier and much deeper scent mid-wear thanks to the bourbon and tobacco notes. Posala then settles at a soft, yet slightly sweet amber. For some reason, mixed with my chemistry I do not get any of the floral components of Posala, which doesn’t bother me.

Odin New York 09 Posala, I’m happy to report is long wearing.  I get over 12 hours of wear after spraying it on in the morning.  By the time my husband picks me up from the rail, which is close to 7 p.m., my husband can still smell Posala.  The sillage (pronounced seeyaz) is good; you cannot smell me from one mile away, but, get a hint of subtle sexiness as I pass.  Perfumes, I believe should modestly announce your presence, and not scream it.  Thankfully, Posala does the former.

ODIN New York 09 Posala
I’ll talk about the packaging for a little bit.  It’s simple. Scratch that, it’s sophisticated.  I love the all black everything packaging from the box, to the bottle.  It makes Odin New York 09 Posala seem mysterious and sensual.

Odin New York 09 Posala, like most Odin fragrances, is a unisex scent, and I can definitely see it being worn by a man, especially due to the tobacco and bourbon vanilla notes.  I also believe Posala is the perfect, sophisticated fragrance for a woman in her late 20’s and early 30’s that are into sexy, warm scents for the colder months

Odin New York 09 Posala  ($165/ 100ml) is available exclusively at Barney’s New York.

My Thoughts

I am definitely a lover of candles so I was excited to use the Mosaiq Fragrance Candle.  and even before I opened the box I smelled the fragrance. It was very strong but not overpowering. I love scents that are floral, sweet, clean, and fresh, and occasionally a little minty, so the Tablac & Vanilla  Mosaiq Fragrance Candles were not what I am accustomed to, but I instantly fell in love. I wasn’t sure how I would respond the hint of tobacco, but paired with the vanilla, it is very soothing. I lit the candle in my bedroom and the scent could be smelled all throughout my apartment. One thing that I love about the candle is the hand blown glass casing. It is sturdy, which tells me that it is good quality. Also, when I burned the candle it did not burn quickly, which is great because you get your money’s worth.

I would definitely recommend purchasing this candle in this fragrance it is very calming and relaxing. It’s not scent that you would expect in the spring or summer, but it is delightful. I’m interested in trying other products and fragrances like the one’s listed above.

Currently Mosaiq Frangrance Candles has the White Collection and the Color Collection for candles.

The 8 oz. candle retails for  $36  click here to see a list of all fragrances and to purchase.

Fragrance Friday: My Billionaire Boyfriend is Cheap!

I picked up the 1.7 fl oz bottle of Kate Walsh’s Billionaire Boyfriend when Hautelook.com  had it on sale for $19.00 (original price $65.00).  It was something I had on my fragrance wish list from last Christmas, and at $19.00, why would I pass that up?

Billionaire Boyfriend Notes:
Bergamot, Tangerine, Green Lush Leaf, Black Jasmine, Black Velvet Orchid, Gardenia, Patchouli Flower, Amber, Cistus, Vetiver, Sandalwood.

I first tried Billionaire Boyfriend during one of my trips to Sephora.  Something about the scent, once it died down caught my attention.   I must admit that in the beginning, it doesn’t smell Billionaire-ish to me at all; it actually smells a bit cheap.  In the beginning, it comes off a little strong and too sweet for my taste; however, as I mentioned before, once it dies down and meld with your body chemistry, you have a nice, seductive and feminine scent.

The bottle of the Billionaire Boyfriend perfume is supposed to be reminiscent of a special reserve champagne bottle with an antiqued platinum-mirrored finish which is supposed to represent “… the wealth and glamour of an old world atelier. “  To be honest, the bottle looks cheap.  I don’t care for the rhinestones around the neck of the bottle top, nor do I care for the semi-matte, platinum-like finish.

If I had to re-purchase Billionaire Boyfriend at the original price, I would not.  I just don’t like how loud and sweet it is in the beginning, which lasts for at least 2-hours, until it finally dies down into a more favorable scent.

Fragrance Friday: Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense

During a visit to Sephora in Union Square for The Style and Beauty Doctor’s & CoverFx’s beauty event, I decided to test out some scents I’ve been wanting to try since I’m on the hunt for a new scent for fall.  Spray, after spray of at least 10 different fragrances, I finally came across one that satisfied my senses; Paco Rabanne Lady Million.   I’m probably going to purchase this sometime in the future.

Paco Rabanne Lady Million has the following notes: Neroli, Bitter Orange, Raspberry, Orange Flower Absolute, Sambac Jasmine Absolute, Gardenia, Patchouli, Honey, Amber. It is described as seductive, bright and luxurious.  It definitely screams luxurious, especially when looking at the packaging; if you’re into bling and shiny things, you’d love it. If not, you’d think it’s tacky.

Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense

You’re probably thinking “I thought this post was about Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense?”  Oh, but it is! I wouldn’t introduce you to something without first experiencing it in some way.  After falling in-love with Paco Rabanne Lady Million, I was delighted to find out about the latest men’s fragrance, released this month, Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense.

This limited-edition fragrance continues the renowned story of Paco Rabanne’s best-selling 1 Million fragrance.

Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense enters a world of gold, splendor and elegance where bold scents share leading roles with seduction and sensuality.  Slightly citrus notes play on a number of spicy tones, intensified and redefined with a distinctly sexy path.  The ultimate fantasy, this spicy fragrance is composed of a blood mandarin and peppermint top and rose absolute and cinnamon bark heart, rounded out with a base of iris and oud.  This is definitely something I would love to smell on my husband.  I’m thinking this just might be part of his birthday gift, which quickly approaching.

Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense can be purchased at Macys or Macys.com for $84 (3.4oz), $63 (1.7oz).
