Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucree Limited Edition 2015

Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucree Limited Edition 2015 is described as follows

Eau Sucrée is a delicious new interpretation of ANGEL, an olfactory candy, born of a whirlwind of tangy freshness and angelic delights.  Eau Sucrée takes us on an initiatory journey into the world of indulgence and gourmand pleasure, based on three delicious accords: the tangy delight of a red berry sorbet, the sweet delight of a caramelized meringue, the voluptuous delight of patchouli and vanilla.

I fell instantly in love with the Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucree Limited Edition 2015 on first spritz.  My husband loved it on me, too. I loved the light berry notes that are first emitted, and then it morphs into a sweet vanilla-caramel scent, which pretty much lasts for the duration of wear.  Although I can’t describe it as a “fresh” scent since it isn’t composed of florals or citrus notes. However, it still makes a great spring fragrance, especially if you or your mom are looking for a light, sweet scent for spring or summer, and are fond of vanilla fragrances.

Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucree Limited Edition 2015

Let’s not forget the bottle.  The Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucree Limited Edition 2015 is packaged in a pretty bright blue bottle with frosted glass detailing reminiscent of sprinkles of sugar, which gives the star-shaped bottle texture.   Needless to say, this bottle adds some distinctive flare to my vanity, and I’m sure your mom would love it, too.

Thierry Mugler ANGEL “The New Star” Eau de Parfum is described as follows:

ANGEL New Star is a stunning creation that celebrates ANGEL’s celestial legacy. A work of art carved out of starlight, this precious star was created to be treasured and refilled forever. Angel is a perfume with a lasting lingering trail; it has a distinct personality and pays tribute to a captivating, carnal and glamorous kind of femininity. Angel is also a bold perfume, created from an “uncommon” concentration of patchouli: it pushes the limits of immoderation and leaves no one indifferent.

Since 1992, ANGEL has been one of the most iconic fragrances among women. Since then, Thierry Mugler has introduced four different versions of the ANGEL fragrance, each with a distinctive star-shaped, refillable bottle.  The Thierry Mugler ANGEL “The New Star” is Thierry’s 2015 Angel fragrance released March of 2015 housed within a beautifully, odd shaped star bottle that looks different at every angle.

Thierry Mugler ANGEL “The New Star” is a very warm fragrance that’s heavy on the vanilla and patchouli.  It has a blend of creamy chocolate, red berries, melon, blackberry and citruses. Thierry Mugler ANGEL “The New Star” is a bit too warm for a spring or summer scent, but that doesn’t mean mom can’t save it for the fall. Plus, I doubt she’d mind the beautiful bottle sitting upon her dressing table.  Top notes of the composition accentuate bergamot, preceding juicy red berries, soft and sensual vanilla and patchouli, announced as the key notes of the composition.  Thierry Mugler ANGEL “The New Star” is definitely a fragrance for a more mature woman; I’m thinking mid-40’s and up.  If you think this is something that suits your mom or any mom in your life, pick it up. Even if it’s just for the bottle alone.

Whether it’s a light, sweet berry with vanilla, or a deeper, warm fragrance that’s heavy on the patchouli, Thierry Mugler definitely has something mom would love. The Thierry Mugler ANGEL EAU SUCRÈE Limited Edition 2015 ($80), and Thierry Mugler ANGEL “The New Star” Eau de Parfum ($150) are available on mugler.com.

This ‘Fragrance Friday’, we’re going to talk about the Kate Spade Walk on Air Eau de Parfum, which was released March of this year, and inspired by the femininity of the New York City woman.

Kate Spade describes Walk on Air as follows:

Walk on air by Kate Spade New York is a fragrance that celebrates the graceful confidence of its wearer. Sweet and tender layers of lily of the valley, the flower of happiness and joy.  Magnolia and crinum lily caress the skin like a breath of fresh air. The fragrance exudes delight; it’s an invitation to seize the day and envelop yourself in the promise of something wonderful.

NOTES: Top – linden blossom, maiden’s hair fern, solomon’s seal, calabrese bergamot, tunisian neroli. Middle –  lily of the valley, magnolia grandiflora, egyptian jasmine, narcissus absolute orpur. Base – crinum lily, white iris, violet leaf absolute orpur.

Kate Spade Walk on Air

I first caught a whiff of this fresh, airy floral fragrance while I attended an event held at the Kate Spade New York Madison Ave Flagship store. It was seriously love at first sniff.  I am not sure if it is because the Kate Spade Walk on Air Eau de Parfum reminded me of one of my favorite vacation spots, Puerto Vallarta, but, that was one of the first things I thought of when I smelled this fragrance.

Balcony view of Banderas Bay from Conchas Chinas

Isn’t it great when a fragrance generates a trip of nostalgia? I’m talking about the good memories.  Some of our best times were the weeks we’ve spent on the beaches in Puerto Vallarta, walking along the Malecon, and taking in the views of Banderas Bay from our condo in Conchas Chinas. Smelling the Kate Spade Walk on Air Eau de Parfum took me right back to those moments. And the color of the fragrance itself – a clear light blue – reminded me of the sea.

I also love the simplicity of the packaging; a round bottle, a dome-shaped topper that’s adorned with a cute black bow.

Overall, I love the scent of the Kate Spade Walk on Air Eau de Parfum, and can’t wait to pick up a full-sized bottle of my own. It’s a light and airy feminine fragrance that is casual and relaxed enough for daytime wear.  If you like fragrances that are light, white floral mixes of lily of the valley, magnolia and crinum, then this just might be the fragrance you need for spring and summer.

The Kate Spade Walk on Air Eau de Parfum is available at Kate Spade or Nordstrom in a 0.34 oz rollerball, 1.7 oz, and a 3.4 oz bottle for $25.00 – $95.

Does the Kate Spade Walk on Air Eau de Parfum sound like a fragrance you’d wear this spring and/or summer?

Fragrance Friday: Nanette Lepore for Women Review

I BOUGHT THIS | AFFILIATE LINKS

This Fragrance Friday, I finally have an affordable perfume to share with you, and it’s one of my favorite fragrances to wear during the spring: Nanette Lepore for Women.  This perfume is the signature fragrance from the whimsical and feminine design house, Nanette Lepore.

Nanette Lepore for Women is packaged in a girlish pink, Bohemian-style bottle decorated with flowers, and adorned with a black and white polka dot bow (I misplaced mine).  It’s simple, yet cute.  The 30ml bottle that I own fits nicely within my purse, and is compact enough for travel.

Nanette Lepore for Women, can be described as feminine, fun and flirty. This floral and fruity fragrance has the following notes:
Top: Rose, White peach and White cranberry
Middle: Black currant, Orange, Jasmine and Persian lime
Base: Signature violet leaf

For me, the rose notes in Nanette Lepore for Women are evident for the first 10-15 minutes, and then the peach mixed with cranberry come tagging along.  I love the black currant mixed with the jasmine, which seems to hang around a bit longer., and the Persian lime just makes everything smell even better. It cuts the floral and berries so that it isn’t too sweet, but just right.  The sillage is awesome; you can’t smell me from a mile away, which is good, but, should i pas you, you’ll get a light whiff.  It’s the perfect spring daytime fragrance.

My only issue with Nanette Lepore for Women is that it doesn’t last long. I’d say I get about 4 hours wear on a good day. On a hot day, 1-3 hours.  But, for a discount fragrance, I think that this is a pretty decent wear time.

Nanette Lepore for Women, in my opinion is a feminine fragrance suitable for those women in the 20 – 30 year old range.  It’s fun and cheerful, with a bit of innocence.  I would recommend it for those over 30 years old who are young at heart.  Nanette Lepore is one of those fragrances that has built in nostalgia, so spray some on , and take a walk down memory lane to the days when you were out having fun with your girls, or necking with your new main squeeze.

Nanette Lepore for Women can be purchased from Neiman Marcus for $30/1.7 fl oz.

Have you tried Nanette Lepore for Women?

What’s your take on it?

Fragrance Friday: Spring Fragrance Favorites

We’ve had a tough winter. I’ve been impatiently waiting for spring to arrive; however, with today being the first day of spring and all, Mother Nature has something else in mind, and gave us some more freaking snow! Can you believe that? Anyway, that’s not going to deter me from sharing with you a list of my personal spring fragrance favorites.

1. Balenciaga Florabotanica

Balenciaga Florabotanica made my Spring Fragrance Favorite list because when I first received Balenciaga Florabotanica as a gift from my husband over a year ago, there wasn’t a moment you couldn’t get a whiff of it on me.  I love the notes of Carnation, Wild Mint, Turkish Rose Essence, Hemp Leaves, Vetiver Roots, White Amber that it has. Combined, they make for a beautiful fragrance that is well-balanced, and isn’t overly floral. Plus, this fragrance lasts all day – for hours on end.

2. Flora by Gucci

I love Flora by Gucci. I picked this up because a co-worker used to wear it, and I just loved it on her. It’s a Spring Favorite Fragrance pick because even though it’s a floral fragrance, it gives off an an air of sophistication and confidence.  Flora by Gucci has the following notes: Citrus Accord, Peony, Rose, Osmanthus Flower, Pink Pepper, Sandalwood. The notes make Flora by Gucci a floral fragrance with a hint of spice, which by now you know, I love. Flora by Gucci also is a long-lasting fragrance.

3. Marc Jacobs Lola

I can honestly say I got Marc Jacobs Lola for the bottle alone. I love the topper.  Lola reminds me of a bouquet of fresh flowers, and with the winter we’ve had, anything that doesn’t remind me of cold and snow I love, which is why it’s a Spring Fragrance Favorite.

4.  David Yurman Fresh Essence

David Yurman Fresh Essence is a part of a three-piece collection.  Fresh Essence is one of my favorite fragrances from the collection, and can be described as a fruity floral, but not so fruity that it’s intoxicatingly sweet.  Fresh Essence is fun, and flirty, and I wear it most during the day or on the weekends. To me, it meshes well with Exotic Essence, which is also in the set. Combined, the two make a sensual and flirty scent. Read more about the collection here.
