Saturday, May 12, 2012 was The Makeup Show New York City blogger preview. Just to name a few, in attendance were: The Style & Beauty Doctor, Yummy411, Silver Lips Beauty, The Gorgeous Ingredient, This That Beauty, Vex in the City, Musings of  a City Girl, Her Goody Bag and more.  During the preview Director of Artistry, James Vincent gave bloggers insight on what is happening during the two-day show; he discusses new vendors, workshops, as well as unveils new products.  James Vincent also shared with bloggers his favorite things.

Next to Ellis Faas, NARS, and Hunger Games Makeup Artist Ve Neill being showcased during The Makeup Show, I believe the most exciting new portion was the Career Fair.  The career fair featured 40 beauty brands/agencies, and was open to only 400 people.  Attendees had the opportunity to get interviewed and hired on the spot!  I hope this is something they continue to have in the upcoming years.

Danessa Myricks discussed her line of brushes, which were created & sold exclusively at The Makeup Show.   The Makeup Show Brush Line features brushes from celebrity makeup artists, James Vincent, Jon Hennessey, Orlando Santiago, Esterique Aidan and Danessa Myricks and includes a full set of 13 brushes suitable for artists at every level.

Followed by the blogger preview was a cocktail party, which showcased photography of makeup artists work as well as models. Some of them were painted with 3D designs, which was pretty cool!

During The Makeup Show New York, GLAMCOR released a new Hygenic Hand Palette.  James Vincent revealed it to us during the blogger preview.   It’s a pretty cool concept.  Instead of having swatches all over your hands, you apply disposable adhesive palettes for your hands— no more dirty hands when applying our makeup. You can mix, swatch, blend on them and then toss the palettes in the garbage when finished.

Of course we had a hefty swag bag filled with most of James’ favorite beauty items. Including things from:

NARS

GLAMCOR
ZUCA
Auraline Beauty

OFRA Cosmetics

Unii Cosmetics

Menaji

Bdellium Tools

…And More

Next up is The Makeup Show Chicago, June 17th – 18th! If you missed New York, make sure you get there!
