I attended this event at the Red Door Spa in NYC, and learned some great natural skin care  tips from Dawn Gallagher.   She did demonstrations on how to make simple, at-home spa treatments like a glycolic facial mask using sugar, honey and green tea.  I’ve used a variation of this mask/scrub at home, minus the green tea, so after the event after washing off my makeup, I tried her mask recipe.  I must say, my skin did feel better, and the next day a pimple that I had no longer hurt and the swelling went down.  Needless to say, I’ve been doing this mask on myself two – three times per week ever since.

After her demonstration, everyone in attendance was able to receive mini spa treatments at Red Door Spa.  I had the microdermabrasion done on my hands.  My hands felt amazingly soft afterward.

All of the treatments (and more) mentioned during the event can be found in he r new book, Nature’s Beauty Secrets: Recipes for Beauty Treatments from The World’s Best Spa’s (retail: $35). My sister ended up purchasing the book for me (Thank You), I can’t wait to try each treatment mentioned. Below is a photo of Dawn signing my book.
