You’ve seen my top skincare products of 2012, which wasn’t easy for me since there are so many great skincare products around. It was no easier for me to choose items to be part of my top beauty products of 2012 list. This list contains products that I’ve used most in 2012, especially for my face of the days (FOTD).
MAC Ruby Woo is the perfect matte red lipstick for any occasion. I love that it looks different on everyone. Plus, if you ever want to go bare faced, wearing this will spruce up your look big time. You can wear it with anything. Lately, I’ve been pairing it with a NYX lip pencil in “Purple Rain” , which gives it a berry-ish tint.
Next to the lip tars, this tinted moisturizer by Obsessive Compulsive is my favorite beauty product of 2012 because even though it is a tinted moisturizer, the coverage of it is amazing. It isn’t heavy, and I like that my skin still looks like skin. As we all know, skin was “in” in 2012, and the OCC Tint was the perfect product to achieve that look. I also received many compliments when wearing it. The downside is that it has no SPF, but, when I use my Cerave AM moisturizer, I’m not worried about it.
I love the MAC Wonder Woman Collection Golden Lariat Mineralize Skinfinish compact. It’s a bronzer, highlighter, and blush in this huge compact. I think it was one of my best purchases. I used it all summer, and I still dabble in it. I’m pissed it broke.
I love, love, love this palette. It was my version of the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I’ve created so many beautiful looks with this. The colors are pigmented (see review). The shadows blend well. Plus, I bought it at The Makeup Show New York for a good price! I hope when I attend this year, they have some good stuff.
I use the 24 HR Eyeshadow Magic Eyeshadow Primer daily. To me, it’s comparable to the Urban Decay Primer Potion, which I have in my kit, but, this is like $17 cheaper.
I like Tarte products. I have no clue what took me so long to try them. The Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara is amazing. I’m not just saying this. My eyelashes look longer and fuller; people usually think I have on falsies when I use it. I don’t experience clumping. I wear contacts, and this mascara doesn’t bother them.
I love Red Cherry lashes, and next to their ‘WSP’ lash, Red Cherry #43 False Eyelashes has to be my favorite when I want a natural looking eyelash. Plus, they’re super affordable.
I have had this Ben Nye Luxury Banana Powder for a long time. You don’t need a lot. A little goes a long way. It’s perfect for contouring and highlighting, and it works well in keeping my t-zone from getting oily. If you can find it, get it. I want to try their other powders, too.
Another Ruby Kisses product made my list. I love the Ruby Kisses Never Smudge Liquid Eyeliner . It helps me create the perfect cat eye/winged liner look that I love so dearly. Again, it is super affordable.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural has to be one of my all-time favorite pressed powders. It gives a natural finish, and adds a nice glow. I also use a darker shade to contour or as a bronzer. This is a staple for me and for my makeup kit.
I use the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye concealer to sculpt my brows, and hide my under eye dark circles. It’s waterproof. It blends well, and a little goes a long way (see review).
