While at The Makeup Show New York, I picked up a bottle of the Skindinavia No More Shine Makeup Finish from Alcone Co. With it’s promises of oil absorption, oil control (especially on the t-zone), extended makeup wear, and fewer touch-ups I was greatly intrigued by this product. I hesitantly handed my card over to the Alcone Co worker and paid $29 for the 4 oz bottle of this product (ouch!).
Control shine anytime, anywhere, without reapplying your makeup! Ultra-fine mist delivers a healthy looking finish without ever becoming too shiny. No More Shine Makeup Finish stops makeup slippage and caking over the entire face and oil prone t-zone.
Unique technology keeps makeup surface cooler than the skin, slowing oil from moving to the makeup surface. Great for active use, a night out, or humid weather. No More Shine Makeup Finish is a great alternative to blotting paper and constant reapplication.
For best results, try misting No More Shine Makeup Finish before AND after, applying makeup.
Okay, so I purchased this product after some convincing and testing during the day of the makeup show. The product, when sprayed does give a nice, refreshing, light mist to the face as promised. There is no heavy, perfume scent like I’ve experience with lets say, Fix+, which is also perfect for those with sensitivities to scented products. It also doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight, sticky, or dry. All of the aforementioned things are pluses in my book.
Like most women of color, I’m an oily girl (see post), especially in my t-zone. I’ve tried Make Up For Ever’s All Mat, MAC Cosmetics Oil Control Lotion, MAC Blot Powder, CoverFX Matte FX, Ben Nye’s Final Seal, as well as some other “tricks” to keep the oil at bay and to ensure my makeup wouldn’t slide off during the day, especially in hot weather like we’ve been having lately. I must say that this ONE product did keep the oil away for a much longer period; ‘m talking about 8+ hours of an oil-free face (claim is for 16 hours I didn’t wear it that long). No blotting or makeup re-application. Usually, my t-zone would look and feel like I slapped a bunch of cooking oil on it, but the Skindinavia No More Shine Makeup Finish kept it away.
Would I recommend?
I would definitely recommend this product to people who have oily skin like me, and to makeup artists; a kit must-have in my opinion. It allows you to keep your makeup looking fresh even in hot, humid weather. Another good thing is you can use it alone/ sans makeup. My only gripe is the price. A little goes a long way. Since I have just started to use it I can’t say how long it will last, but, for the price I hope I can have it for a couple of months.
They also have one for heat & hot weather that I want to try as well.
