I received stylist Chaz Dean’s WEN Pomegranate Cleansing Conditioner ($28 for 16 oz bottle) at the QVC Beauty Breakfast.  I have never tried any of the WEN products before, except for what was tested on me at the event (see post); however,  I did hear great things about the product from a co-worker (untreated curly hair).  I was excited to go home with this product to finally try.

Description:

What is it: A revolutionary step toward beautiful, healthy, shiny hair. This cleansing conditioner replaces shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler, leave-in conditioner, and even shaving cream.

Who is it for: All hair types.

Why is it different: This pomegranate cleansing conditioner is formulated to add moisture without weighing hair down. It effectively cleanses and hydrates hair without stripping or robbing it of its natural nutrients and oils.

WEN boasts that their cleansing conditioner is sulfate free – you know,  the stuff that makes your shampoo suds up. Sulfates also strip your hair of natural oils.  This was my very first time using a product like this, and initially, I was impressed.

I loved how my scalp and hair felt clean.  There was a cool, tingly feeling to my scalp after using the product.  I was surprised to see and feel how clean my hair was without all of the suds.  After going through the cleansing process as the directions instructed, I blow-dried my hair and my hair was left feeling soft, light, bouncy and fuller.  Fast forward to three to four days in, and that feeling was gone!  My hair felt straw-like and stiff, which is why I wasn’t completely impressed.

As far as the scent of this product, to me it smelled ‘yummy,’ but not a true pomegranate scent, and wasn’t too over-powering.  The scent stayed in my hair for at least the 1st two days then it was gone, which doesn’t bother me.

It’s supposed to be for all hair types, but it didn’t work too well for my relaxed hair;  therefore, I wouldn’t recommend this product if your hair is relaxed like mine.  WEN does recommend their Fig WEN products for African American hair, maybe I need to try that and/or the replenishing treatment for better reslts.

Have you tried WEN’s Cleansing Conditioner?

What did you think?

Disclaimer: I attended an exclusive event where these products were provided.  I was not paid or compensated in anyway to do this post.  This is my honest review/opinion.
